:hello: Good morning folks, dark and damp here.

Barnet,
Morning all, been awake since 5.45. Like everywhere else its damp and breezy.
A soggy dog walk will be had today.
I've got a few errands to run today, but I don't think that I'll be using the bike today. It'll be the buses instead.
Stay dry if you can everyone. :rain:

This should have been the day Ovo sent an engineer to repair/replace my broken meter but they even mucked that up. They ordered a smart meter to be fitted even although I explained about my two meter set up for the storage heating at the time. Next phone call a week ago to confirm the appointment and I mentioned it again and the guy said he didn't know why they did that as I couldn't have one yet. Lord knows when I will have a working meter at this rate. Sadly, as there as so few energy companies that actually deal with this set up, I am stuck with them in the meantime.

Is that the " Economy 7 " type setup Mo?

Morning all :hello:

Not looking too bad out there; might get out and about for a couple of hours this morning.
Been perusing the bus timetables with a view to going to Minehead tomorrow for Fish Friday at Wetherspoons (their beer festival is still on as well). There seems to be a regular 30 minute service between Watchet railway station and the Duke of Wellington. Sounds like a plan. :okay:

Similar. It's called Total Heating with Total Control. My heaters and hot water are controlled by a Teleswitch system, coming on and off at specific times at the cheaper rate. I believe the long wave signal which controls this is scheduled to be switched off by the end of March next year, so they will need to have a dual rate smart meter set up with something like Economy 7 timings available when that happens.

It's getting seriously windy out there and there's already reports of trees down. Wonder if I should fill a flask with hot water in case we get a power cut.

Coincidentally the guy who came to do the SolarPV survey on Monday, in response to my question about the particular system* I'm interested in asked " How often do we have a power cut ". I said not often, but I can see them becoming more frequent.

* The system I'm looking at automatically and seamlessly switches over to the storage batteries if there is a power cut.

Another reason I like my storage heaters. Even in the lengthy power cut we had in the last big storm, they stayed hot for hours, whereas gas central heating would just go off right away without electric to power the pump, but if your batteries could do that it would be good.

Morning. I got up at 5 and fed Molly, had a glass of water and out at 5.15 for a jog/walk and got round the riverside trail and back home before the rain hits us. Windy though.

The next couple of days sound awful. Pretty much constant rain and wind with no let up until Sunday afternoon.

I may well stick my pjs back on after my bath.
You'll need to put something on after yer bath, you'll catch yer death o'cowd otherwise.
