I recall my Mum used to say "it's too cold for snow".
No idea if there's any truth in that but I doubt it.

I just saw an advert for Dyson headphones. You can get them at the bargain price of £549 at curries and that includes £200 off the official price. What a bargain. I have to say they look hellish fugly. They make you look like one of the cybermen from Dr Who

Digging WAY back in y memory banks, I do seem to recall, in physics lessons at school (I did say it was WAY back) we were told that the explanation for the temperature rising slightly with snow was something to do with the latent heat of something or other

Went to see MacBeth in Liverpool

in a warehouse - staring Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma

Turns out it is not a comedy - got a few hints when we walked through the entrance to be faced with a burning car and demolished building and general rubble (apparently)

while waiting for it to start there were general war sounds including fast jets (single engine - possibly F16) and helicopters

anyway - turns out the MacBeth was not a nice man and his wife has a real "thing" about washing her hands!!!


anyway - it doesn;t end well for him

Also turns out that Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma and really getting the hang of the acting thing!!!


So basically brilliant!

I remember it was my Shakespeare play to study at school. Still a fair few of the quotes stick in my mind. Wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Anyway - today

Look damn cold outside
last night the car thermometer said it got down to 1 degree - no lower

looks about the same now

mind you we are near the river/estuary and very low down

Just check the local weather stations - via Wunderground map
they are all around zero - one on Ditton marsh says -2 (!)

ones up towards Dave7 say the same as him - just shows how going a bit inland and away from the coast can make!
