welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
We had chicken, brocoli, cauliflower, stuffing and gravy. It was yummy.

I'm in the middle of making myself some hand warmers.

The weather has certainly gone downhill here now. Really windy and hissing down.

Here also.
Mr Google tells me we are expecting minus° from Feb 10th.

Wow 6 quid for a hair cut , that’s cheap . I think the last time I paid that little was about 2001.

Mine was 6 quid until a few months ago

they have increased it to 6.60!!!

Although as that is the "Over 60" price (not pensioner or OAP as that it not allowed) then I normally give them a tip to get it to the normal price so I don't end up having been over 60
even though my birth certificate says I am and has done for a few years

Managed to get out for a ride today

MUCH windier than I expected - especially bad across the bridge and I need to drop down a gear on the way out

Trip back was easier

When I stopped at the half way point it was on a bridge over the canal
The path from the far side up to the bridge was clearly made by chucking a load of random bricks in a slope and covering it with soil
Hence the paths has worn down the soil and there are now a lot of bricks sticking up to different extents and at different angles

and they are wet!

anyway - 4 blokes appeared and saw the upward slope to the bridge
the first one got to the bottom and accelerated into the hill
at the top he stopped by me puffing and I commented "well done - that is steeper than it looks"
he said the bricks were unexpected and he nearly came off at a couple of points
the second in line arrived at that point looking rather alarmed
as he stopped he said "its OK for you - I'm clipped in and I'm not very good at getting out of the new ones!!!"

the other 2 arrived walking and pushing their bikes - laughing at their friends

Anyway - they set off and I spent some time finishing by drink and apple then set off
turns out that we were going the same way and i caught them up

as usual ona canal path I didn;t fancy trying to pass them so I dropped the motor assist down to the bottom level
but I was still catching them too easily so I just switched it off for a couple of miles - at which point they turned off in another direction

so - a couple of miles at zero motor assist and I still felt I was dawdling and could have gone faster

maybe I am not as unfit as I thought

(or maybe they had already done 50 miles that day!!!)
