It’s not been a bad year for beasties though. I don’t miss the flies, but it’s a bit worrying how little bees, wasps, butterflies, etc there are.

We haven't seen many bees or wasps this year..

Currently in Lincoln having a coffee, football and a gay pride march means the place is rammed, I will not be staying long, only popped in for a few tops, my old one's are way to big for me now.

We thought about a camper when we retired. The thought was long, lazy summers touring the continent. We identified two potential issues:

£50,000 buys a lot of B&B​

Divorce is even more expensive than a van​

That’s what we did. Bought Motorhome at retirement, spent the next 14 or 15 years, roaming Europe (Jan thru May, then Sept thru Oct). Brought to an end by Covid (we were in Southern Spain when that kicked off), Brexit and Mrs @Boldonlad’s health.

We had a campervan conversion, then with the miners strike, 3 day week we couldn't afford to keep it. We never bought another one after that.

I used to have a tent but we like our comfort now and prefer a proper bed. Can't afford a camper van but I watch a lot of van life videos on you tube by people who live full time in their vans / motor homes. I don't think I am cut out for this sort of life.

It’s unlikely I would get one, but if I did it would just be a small camper van suitable as daily use as well as I certainly wouldn’t want the upkeep of two vehicles.

The general UK insect population has been decimated by pollution, climate change, habitat destruction and agricultural pesticide.

Honey bees are doing OK. It's solitary bees, mainly bumble bees, which are in big trouble with a 90% decline in population. Of the European species 25% are threatened with extinction.

I'm a big fan of bees and insects in general. This is why I let my allotment grass grow to flowering height.

A general cold, wet period does have a short-term impact.

Hi not the best today very short of breath, I was OK first thing, but getting worse.
I made a chocolate cake to cheer me up, but it's making be very tried, I've just made the icing, but had to stop as I was so tired, I'll finish it off later............

Yesterday , I made another shelter for storing wood. The first one is full but now I need some for the new one.
Today is a day of doing nothing and tomorrow shall call for a ride heading West and the wind behind on the way back.
