Black pudding is the food of the gods. A good one is delicious. Bury black pudding is the best.

Haggis? Done that, never again.

I will manage to sleep without either of them, or tripe.

When I started "proper" riding my granddad took me out on what I think were long rides. He had a Brooks saddle, squirted oil on our chains, wore a civvies tweed suit and tie, definitely used Sturmey Archer 3 speed and rat traps. He would have carried Woodbines and a pipe. I rode a turquoise and maroon Raleigh, it may have had gears. I guess this was 58 - 60 years ago. I was 10 or 12, possibly younger, I don't recall.

Today, perhaps 10 years older than granddad, I set off on my ££££ bike, clad head to foot in lycra, clipped in, helmet in place.

Tonight I have on charge, front light, rear light, Garmin Varia, Wahoo Roam, Garmin HR watch, Wahoo chest HR strap, di2 20 speed.

I wonder what Granddad would have to say about that???

While on medical matters I have just had a squamous cell carcinoma removed from my shin. The Doc says he is happy with the result and all the pathology reports are negative. Now I just have to sit with my leg elevated for the next four weeks!

so what happened with it ? how did they treat it ?

I have one on my nose ^_^ Have been using Chemo cream, its burnt all the skin off, apparently its supposed to !

it fair smarts, nice when I get going on the bike and the cold air takes the heat out of it

He tried cream first but it did not work.
The bits were cut out of my shin and a skin graft taken from the ,back of my calf was applied.
Now twelve months later all is well.

My 1st bike was 2nd hand and only held together by rust. My Dad painted it with only paint he had which bright yellow.
Later on I progressed to a Triumph Palm Beach with 3 speed Sturmey Archer. It got me all over North Wales including the Horshoe Pass.
I have no memories of either of the granddads.
