The house is clean and tidy

Wish mine was. I hate housework and seem to have totally lost interest in the house.

Good morning from a sunny but chilly Poole. Must get a haircut today, and get some cash out to pay the lad who turned up a couple of days ago to rake out and repoint the brickwork on the outhouse.
Kitchen floor is latexed and levelled, walls and ceiling plastered, PVA'd and painted ( 2 coats Primer, 2 coats of Dulux " Diamond Matt " ) ready for the units to start to arrive. They're pre assembled, so as I've no storage they are arriving in sequence.
@Mo1959 , you were talking about my recent lottery win😉 and my " splashing the cash ". Talking with the Matt, guy doing our kitchen, the job before mine was a bit " spendy ". A couple of accountants who are London based and quite eccentric, own a property in Canford Cliffs a very expensive suburb of Poole. It's a very big penthouse. He said they had custom made stone worktops among other specific requirements and ended up spending over £130K 😮😮

It's mad, what some people spend on kitchens and bathrooms.

Some aquaintances of ours (too flashy to be friends plus they live a different life to us as they are very wealthy), had a new kitchen installed about 10 years ago for £95k...

... 3 years later they had it ripped out and replaced! Bonkers!

Mind you, their annual one month long holiday in the Barbados every Xmas is north of £120k.

Some people have serious money! We think that we are very comfortable but in reality we are paupers compared to some.

Fortunately, many years ago we realised that one key to being content with life is to be happy with what you have. Rather than being unhappy with what you don’t have.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Yep. The problem with spring here is the early morning sun is directly on the front room window. Wonderful you say? Hmmmm........looking out means peering through layers of dusty rain splashes. I might tackle this later.

I made the mistake of looking up yesterday and I think every spider for 100 miles mist have moved into my house during the winter. The ceiling was covered in cobwebs.
