Busy day of pleasure today.. Up at very stupid o'clock (just before 02:00!) to drive to Hathersage, Derbyshire, for a walk I'd planned t'other day..
High Neb trig point on Stanage Edge before sunrise!! 👌

Eventually, after a 12 mile hike, I got back to the car for a quick pedal around the town on the Brommie before going for a swim in Hathersage open air pool..
The water was quite chilly ❄️

Eventful ride this afternoon

went over the old bridge to Runcorn and along the canal
so stopped by the new Buddist statue for a quick bike photo

Then along the canal watching the mileometer carefully and saw it change over to 10000 miles since I got it!!

and froma nature point of view - saw some nice spring flowers coming up near the statue

and then later on a Kingfisher zipping along the canal and into some trees

also saw several narrow boats out on the canal

Nice ride!

I have my 'back to the future' car so all things are possible

Can you go back to about 1996 and tell me not to go near my ex with an elongated barge pole please???

Thanks

Just remembered something from my ride today

I was riding around Runcorn around school kicking out time
and apparently it is "World Book Day" where the kids can go into school wearing stuff relating to a something that may or may not have been in a book

Anyway - lots of "costumes" on kids - and several just in pyjamas

but I also went along a path in some woods that I have not been through before and I came across a lady dressed in brown and dark greens

with a little girl in a wonderful Alice (or Wonderland and Looking Glass fame) costume
blond hair and very white skin and a bright blue dress with white lace and stuff

so as the walked away all I saw as her mother walked along the side of teh path near the trees and hence was pretty invisible
was Alice skipping happily through the woods waving her arms happily

very weird

welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Ah yes. My grandson dressed up as a pirate from a Welsh book. The kids loved it. He looked a bit odd driving home later wearing a pirates outfit and a pirates hat with dreadlocks. Some other drivers looked twice at him. 😆
