As I discovered, when I asked an elderly local man if we were actually in Slay-th-wait! (He was totally confused by what I was asking him... I had to spell out the name of the town to him, and he looked totally bewildered that anybody could possibly imagine that it was pronounced that way!Not Slay-th-wait at least.
