I didn't know Clarkson was selling up ;)

You’ll need to explain….I don’t get that?

welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Sounds normal to me? If I open a bar of chocolate, packet of sweets, etc etc, I cannot stop munching until they are all gone.

Mrs @BoldonLad is much more disciplined, she can open a bar of chocolate and eat one. square, then, put the rest away for another day.

She is annoying, but, the good thing is, when she retrieves her bar of chocolate, the next day, and, I have eaten all of mine, she might give me a few squares ;)

I can open a bar of chocolate and only eat 1 or 2 pieces as well, the put the rest away. Mr WD would stuff his face with the whole bar.

Sorry not been around for a day or two - not been well

I was feeling bette ryesterday so decided I better get on with a job I abandoned a few days before
basically the outside front light was always a bit functional rather than orhamental
worked fine - came on when someone came near - but only if it was dark and all that
but the paint was starting to peal and the bulb was a halogen one which needs its own nuclear reactor to power it

So we got a new prettier one
and I put it up and connected it - which was more difficult than it should have been due to the lack of space inside the outer skin for the wires to go it - so it was a bit of a faff and needed gentle pressure

Anyway - all was well until I put the power back on at which point it did nothing - no light at all
tried shielding the detector - still no light
decided it might be clever so left it until night time - still no light from it!!

Hmm

Then I got ill so I just left it in a safe manner until this morning
I took it off the wall - expecting the faffing about to have puller a wire out of the connector or something
all looked good - no obvious problems
so I totally disconnected the whole thing and took it into the kitch - plan was to connect it to a simpler cable I could see easier and check if the thing actually worked or not

put it down in the kitchen and then looked again

turns out that lamps really don't work all that well if some muppet forgets to put the bulb in the damn thing!!!!

put it back on the wall and tried it again

works fine now!!!

Best thing is - when I told SWMBO that it was fixed she bevaved unusually and didn;t ask how I fixed it - just whether it was working properly now
which it is

so she has no clue that it was only ever not working due to a "very complex technical issue that would take too long to explain"

shhhhh - don't tell her!!!!!!

Been up since 0600. Very dark but not quite as cold as it has been.
Managed to book the car in for MOT on Tuesday which is the last day for the tax.

The garage is over a mile away. I used to enjoy the walk but can't do it now so my daughter is chauffer for me.

Good morning. It's 5⁰ and feels quite mild, I can hear a few birds singing. Today? Rovers are at home so that's the afternoon sorted. I'll head out for a walk shortly and that's about it.

I have a creak on my Kinesis. Oh, do I hate creaks. Installed new cleats a bit earlier and will check the seat post and saddle rails after my walk. Then I'll see how things are on tomorrow's planned ride.
