Started young, and still going.

Barnet,
Good morning all.
Millie woke me up at 0425, barking and carrying on. I let her out in the garden just as two foxes bounded over the garden gate. They were obviously driving her wild.
I then remembered to put the green bin out, it's the first collection of the year.
I was now wide awake, so made some tea, before trying to get back to sleep.
After the usual things to do, I will have a bimble out on the bike for some essentials from the local shops. Bread, some vegetables and ales.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning. It's 5⁰ and feels quite mild, I can hear a few birds singing. Today? Rovers are at home so that's the afternoon sorted. I'll head out for a walk shortly and that's about it.

I have a creak on my Kinesis. Oh, do I hate creaks. Installed new cleats a bit earlier and will check the seat post and saddle rails after my walk. Then I'll see how things are on tomorrow's planned ride.
You're certain it's the bike creaking?

Found out last night next door is for sale. Cue the usual "How much?!!!!!" "They'll never get that!!!!"

Suffice to say they will. Location, location, location. Interesting reading the agent details. I had no idea the railway stations are so close.. ..........a crow flies overhead.........

A vetting subcommittee will be formed. Only those with approval will be allowed to join our terrace.

Do you actually have any say?

Back from parkrun, quite a few parkrun “ tourists” from places such as Luton and Manchester. Our local parkrun is Upton House. ( The parkrun community has several unofficial challenges, such as collecting the letters that make up your name etc )
Bumped into an old friend as we were running back, he lost his wife not to long ago. Sadly she had dementia and was in a local nursing home. He visited her every day as did their daughter. They were very impressed with the standard of care that his wife received, to the extent that his daughter gave up her job and now works in a Nursing home herself and loves the work.
Our friend is about 86 now, he still runs three times a week 😎

Amazing.....good on him.
Long may that continue.

I thought I might have inadvertently done for him a few weeks back. A friend was giving me a lift back from parkrun and I spotted Pete running up the lane towards his home, I wound my window down and as we approached from behind I shouted “ Put some effort in you old f*cker! “ He nearly leapt out of his skin 😮. In hindsight not the most sensible thing to have done.

My hand held liquidizer has packed up

Brushes? In the distant mists of time we would occasionally get small appliances brought into our workshop. I recall the better made ones such as Bosch had an inbuilt mechanism in the carbon brushes, when they wore down to a certain level that would release a spring loaded plastic nipple that would lift the brush off the commutator and prevent damage. All that was needed was a new set of brushes.

Yes I thought the same at the time, mine is about 25 years old so it's about time I had an update
