I am watching tv.....most unusual for me but its golf and the Dubai Classic was put back a day due to heavy rain.
Then MrsD wants to watch Call the Midwife (recorded last night)

We went to the theatre this evening but not for a normal play

It was a lecture entitled "Psychology of a Serial Killer"

Very well done - just a speaker and a big screen showing a PowerPoint - but an excellent speaker and a very well put together talk

some funny bits (!!!)

especially after the interval when she did a short question session
One question was "can anyone name any female serial killers"???

someone at the top yelled out "Margaret Thatcher"

she did seem surprised by the level of knowledge - apparently serial killers seem to be more 'popular' in Liverpool

also - most of her talks have been to a small theatre that is not full
this was the Liverpool EMpire - and it was packed!!

who knew!!

She were over these parts last October. The ticket price put me off going. £39 for the cheapest.

I'll wait for the book to come out.

Good morning. Still dark but enough moon to see the clouds scudding across the sky. We should be riding but every now and then there's a heavy gust. Easy to bail but I'll wait to hear from my buddy. Till then it's rule #9.

🤫 I didn't see last night's Happy Valley. 🤫

Went to the local independent cinema with friends to see A Bunch of Amateurs. I don't know if it's available online but worth looking for. Very funny and equally sad throughout, an excellent storyline which follows the antics of members of an amateur Bradford film society/club.

Regarding the Happy Valley part, question given what she said in the opening of the first episode.
Will she make it to retirement, or end up chasing a UFO down the road, before being called to a body on a coal pile?

The area is well known for sightings, and known as area 51.

but we hardly ever go out nowadays - especially after the pandemic
so we decided to treat ourselves - plus the Aussie Pink Floyd in November

This strike thingy is now going TOO far and actually impacting US!!!!!

I mean - looks like we are having the grandkids on Wednesday!!!
well - probably only the 2 boys (2 and 6) but we nearly had to have all 3!!!!

not serious - it is actually my Union that is on strike and if I had a vote (retired member don't count) I would have voted to do it

but it does look like I'm getting up early that day!!!!

this getting people who retired early back to work is looking more and more difficult to me???


anyway - better go before I get told to go to 'the other place'

I was planning on going, from the moment I heard about it right up until they started selling the tickets.
£39 for 90 minutes isn't worth it. Plus the booking fee, the tickets(physical tickets cost more, even though they were the only option) and the pick-up/delivery fee.

Good afternoon, its been a nice sunny day here, so I've been for a long dog walk, which just happened to go past the Mitre on the way home. A couple of pints were had there, and now I am home with a nice mug of tea and a KitKat.

I've been for a bimble this morning, my Birchley Heath Loop, I've ridden 24 miles, a bright morning, not too cold but with a stiff cold breeze, new carer was on time so I had time to get my cycle kit on and get out about nine, just at the end of the school run, a better ride this time, I actually enjoyed it even though It was hard work, I'm also very slow but hope if I keep at it some pace might return. Out through Ansley and up Ridge Lane then down past Hoar Park and onto the Tamworth road to run into Coventry, its a lumpy old road and on the fixed it gave me a good work out, I'm knackered now but I've had a good morning, when I got back I got changed and put my Good Lady in her wheelchair and we went over to Cassilax for a spot of lunch, after the work I did I enjoyed my Pork And Stuffing Batch and coffee, I felt I'd earned it.
