Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I retired almost two years ago after the company I worked for promoted me into a position I didn’t want, the plant manger even warned them I’d pull the pin if they gave me the position. I tried it for a year and then walked as it wasn’t worth the stress. I had been the plant engineer and they wanted me to run their quality and environmental systems. Anyway now I take care of the house ( as Frau Fritz still works, she likes her job ) and work part time as a mechanic at the local Trek dealership. My spare time is spent riding or fixing up my garage full of bicycles and motorcycles.

Retirement is good. My wife teaches and is off during the summer so its time with her in the canoe or on the tandem when we’re not floating in the pool during the hot hours of the day.

How do. I didn't see you in the corner. I must have been half asleep when you crept in.

1 or 2 of us are relatively sane, the rest? Meh, the less said abou them the better I think. 😆

Early Retirement Planning
I haven't had my new council tax bill for this year. Last year it was about £178 a month excluding water. I'm expecting around £200 per month this year.
That's one thing I'm dreading about moving area. It's "reasonable" around here, we're paying £176 on a band C at the moment, most of the ones I'm looking at are band C or D, with the tax going up to as much as £230. That's a lot of extra money to find every month.

My council tax has gone down by 42p per month, I'm not going to spend it all at once :hyper:

Save it for 2 months and you will be able to get a Mars bar!!!

seriously - I did see an economic report showing that mapping the cost of a Mars bar as the years go by is a more accurate indicator of the rise in the cost of living that all the complicated basket concepts used by supermarkets and consumer organisations

Not a totally serious report - he did comment that in comparison the cost of Freddy the Frog bars had gone crazy!!!
