You're just being controversial for the sake of it now.😅
Hmmmmm 🤔 blueberry jam, red currant jelly........
You sure know how to treat a lady...no expense spared, eh?I treated Mrs G to lunch today: 6 pounds 50 for two beef and salad sandwiches from a proper sandwich shop.
Back from the Docs. No idea what we will have to eat today. We could end up with egg on toast.

Good day. It's damp, wet, chilly and I've put the heating on, small person is here meaning we won't be moving around much. She though will be 200 mph. She is asleep so I'm doing minor chores. You know interesting stuff like where can I keep my weights as I want them more accessible.
Like @gavroche I'm very glad we had a good ride yesterday. Forecast for the week is shite.
I have decided to buy new pyjamas. Steady ladies, steady. Boxer style, not full length. Sometimes life just overflows with excitement.
Coffee and a hot cross bun while I sit down for a while. Food of the gods.
Woke up at 3am couldn’t get back to sleep.Started thinking about my cycling life..
In 1955 I bought my first bike. A Dawes Clansmen.Benelux gears .Twenty seven and a half wheels .Cotter pln cranks. Cost me £35
This was an amazing bike It was magic bike.
Sunday Ready for the CTC club run Saddle bag on .
Sandwiches in the bag.Tools in side pockets Cape strapped to top of the saddle bag
Monday morning .Bike had transformed into a commuter bike..
Tuesday evening Bike had t transformed again Mudguards had disappeared ready for the local road clubs TT.
Sunday club runs again . Canal towpath ride Bike has become a gravel bike.
Dales bashing ride Bike becomes a mountain bike
Cycling magazines are now telling me a I need individual bikes for each of these activities.
I need proper cycling shorts ,which I have with what looks like a sewn in incontinence pad
Back in the day all i needed was a pair of shorts.A T shirt top for warm weather
A cape for wet weather .
Winter Track suit bottoms
Green spot jacket
How did I survive those early years of my cycling life
OK I’m probably a dinosaur but I’m not extinct.
I have moved with the times .
Current stable is
A Ribble Currently used for on the Turbo
A Giant.aluminium frame.Carbon forks, 9 speed Campag,triple chain set.Bought in 2003 Can’t remember the cost.
Planet x carbon Full Ultegra Shimano wheels Bought eight years ago as reward for surviving open heart surgery.
I have reached a time in my life 82 when I don’t know how long I have left.
I have decided that when parts ware out and are not repairable at a reasonable cost that bike will be retired . I used to be able to do most of my own maintenance with minimal tools The use of sealed bearings.Special tools for changing bottom bracket axles are now required
Most of my cycling clothing shoes etc are from Decathlon.Halfords .Planetx and occasionally Amazon I no longer need the clothing that seems to be aimed those who race.
A pair of of cycling shoes advertised at £300.I’m quite happy with my Decathlon shoes at a cost of £45
If I was a newcomer to cycling reading the cycling press I would need a Gravel bike .A touring /road bike .
A hybrid for commuting .
I quite like the idea of a hybrid as my do it all go almost anywhere bike . Certainly seems ideal for my style of riding
I haven't owned any pyjamas since I was a kid.
Nowt wrong with egg on toast.
I really enjoyed reading your post.
