Started young, and still going.

Barnet,
Good evening all.
Salmon and veg for tea tonight, very tasty was..

Tomorrow is already mapped out. Washing on first thing, it's going to be a good drying day.
Then the usual dog walking for an hour or so.
Then, I'm going to dig out my compost heap and spread it on the garden. It will be a good mulch. Then I'm going to cut the grass.
That should keep me occupied for a few hours. I might be able to get a bike ride in as well.
Always have a plan for the day ahead.

Afternoon all .

Just back from sailing . Had a good time but the sailing was rubbish . I retired after one lap .
My sailing was rubbish , we had the worst possible wind direction and the race officer set a terrible course .
I was going to mention it to the race officer but decided against it .
Did I mention mrs exlaser was race officer today ? 😂😂

Have a pleasant evening evening . 😀

So it was because of the wind direction and the course the race officer set????

One could wonder if the winner thought the same??

But obviously one wouldn't!

All the more annoying when you realise that the broken part costs 25p - 50p.

I had a poke round on the internet for parts without success so I reckon parts might not be available, its a shame as the iron is probably reparable, there used to be a place near where we used to live that did spares and repairs but thats gone now.

Most irons have a thermal fuse, value as given, that's often the actual piece that gives/"pops".
And it's usually the same piece that will go if you kept the old one for spares.

It not quite as simple as that 😀. Here is a little back ground info.
Rule one for setting a course is don’t send people to areas of the reservoir where there is no wind . Then you try to get a equal amounts of beats, runs and reaches on the course to make it fair as different boats go better of different legs of the course .
Normally we sail pursuit races ( slowest boat off first ) based on boat speed, so most of our boats start in 10 minute window .
At the moment we are running a series of personal handicap pursuits and this means the spread of start times is about 20 minutes which means the early boat can do a lap or sometimes two before the last boat starts . So to minimise the confusion for the race office with so many boats on different laps it’s best to set a really long long course and this is what mrs exlaser had done . The only thing is it meant using parts of the reservoir where there was very wind . Which is very frustrating, especially as some people cheat in them by using illegal means of propelling a boat called rocking .😂😀

For the record the winner won fair and square and the second place boat rocked and rolled like a train 😂. This means next week they will both start minutes later than they did this week . It won’t effect the winner ( boat a) much as he was starting off his normal time but boat b was already last off so will be even further back . To put it in perspective, on normal handicaps boat b starts 2 and half minutes before me , To day he started at the same time as me , next week he will start 2 minutes after me .
We run one series of personal handicap races a year just to mix things up , so the same people don’t win all the races all the time . It works well and club members do like it as it gives different sailors their moment in the sun . 😀

Tbh the real reason I retired to day was I was a little hung over and was very very grumpy 😾😂😂😀
