Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Bloody magpie was dancing around on the roof and pecking at the window. Grrrrr

Good morning we had glorious sunshine when I got up at 5.30ish. This counts as a lay in. Cloudy and dull now but I can live with that so long as it's dry. Today we are taking things easy with a visit to Brodick castle, the plan is to walk up Goat Fell tomorrow which at 2867 feet is the highest mountain on Arran. I'm told by reliable friends the 360⁰ panorama is well worthwhile. It's a 6.5 mile walk which we think will take 5-6 hours plus stops and picnic time so a rest day is important.

Cleaned the walking boots this morning as we did a couple of miles of beach walking yesterday and I'm anxious to remove any trace of salt in case it damages the uppers. A long time since Mrs P's boots gleamed as they do now.

Today's picnic is made, cheese rolls, German sausage roll, packet of crisps, grapes and Tunnocks wafer. I make a decent picnic, coffee flask next and I'm ready to go if/when Mrs P wakens. While we're in self-catering we try to avoid cafes and eating out, not completely as this is a holiday, as we need to avoid too much extra expense. From Saturday we have six nights B&B which means eating out in the evenings which will be pricey. I did buy a bottle of Arran single malt called "Robert Burns" - it was on offer in the Coop at £19.99 - bargain - and is delicious. I may pop back to see if there are still some left.

Yesterday we saw three eagles and an otter. What a result.

Morning again. Not long back a lovely 9 mile hilly walk. Had to eat my muesli before I typed as I was starving

Pleased with the speed my heart rate dropped as soon as I was over the climb. Usually a sign of reasonably good heart health. Shame about the legs!

That's a very good drop Mo. Definitely a sign of good health and fitness, well deserved with all your walking. 👏
