I am finally getting my car fixed. I'm taking it down to the garage tomorrow morning. Its about 2 miles away so I will walk back home once I drop it off.

Mt WD said it will be drive rothe garage. Its just that the suspension won't the there.

Its about dam time it was fixed can't blame the garage though as they do rallying and get the cars ready for them abd we have had 3 Bank Holidays as well, but I want my car back on the road ASAP

Just take is slowly and it shound be OK and watch out for pot holes

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

Yep. Everyone has said that. The worst part is getting off the drive 😆. Once I am on the lane and the main road it will be plain sailing or driving (just in case classic says anything ) 😆

Cleaned the car this morning, changed the beds, got two machines of washing done, third load on as I type, found out that Food Whitehall was open so we've been out to lunch, Stepson's coming round later and we're down the club tonight. I've also had one of those friend requests on facebook, an easy on the eye young lady from Houston, a bit older than they usually are, in her twenties I think, but no mutual friends on her friends list and I've never met her either, the friend request got deleted.

Maybe she is related to the nice Russian lady (judging by her phrasing and grammar) that messaged me some time ago (before I met my wife - to be clear)
She REALLY liked me based on what I had said (not sure who to??) and wanted to meet up with me and she knew this hotel in Birmingham that was conveniently about half way between us so the travel would be fair
she did look good in a red dress though
didn't really explain why a 20 something woman with long fair hair and great legs wanted to "meet" a 55 year old fat bald bloke

but love is blind as they say

I didn;t reply - hope she wasn't too upset!!

Anyway - experience for today

went on a canal ride - went well excpet for forgetting to get bread on the way home so had to go out again

Now - 2 saying that are important

a) don't talk to strangers
b) no good deed goes unpunished

So - nearly at the co-op to get the bread and an old (OK older) bloke pushing a bike looked at me and said something.
thinking he might have a bike problem I stopped
turned out he said "wow you look professional"
anyway turns out he got a bike 3 days ago (Raleigh 10 speed flat bars and it was purple!) and wants to start riding to get fitter
so he is asking anyone he can for advise

so - trying to be helpful - I stopped and chatted and imparted such small amount of wisdom as I could
plus encouragement to keep going
and advise on local places he might be able to get to with minimal road sections

Turns out that he had gone to the co-op to get some choc-ices but it was cheaper to get a box of 3 than a single Magnum - so he gave me one of them
seemed like a nice harmless chap - had lots of health problem - looked after his wife for many years and startuing cycling
and all that

seemed fine

Then he mentioned that the World Economic Forum has worked out that the population of the World has to drop from 8 billion to 0.5 billion and

I was at this point thinking I could see Covid approaching at speed

and there is was

I did mention that my wife worked for the NHS for many years and knows a lot about statistics and had looked at everything - and all that crap was untrue

but he wouldn;t have it

not aggressive - just informing me

and several other things

lots of research on the wrong sites - little knowledge of the concept of reliable sources and very little understanding of things in depth

eventually escaped with the remains of the choc ice

don;t think he will be around long anyway - he did mention that he had a blood clot and needed an operation that he didn;t like the sound of so he stopped taking the blood thinners
which is about what I would expect

anyway - back home now and appreciating the conversations with the 2 year old grandson yesterdaymore than usual - he makes more sence!!

The boot sale was absolute rubbish but I did managed to get a pair of sunglasses for 2 pounds. We went into Bude afterwards and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the place is so we had a very good afternoon.
Bike ride tomorrow as the weather is still supposed to be nice. I will be meeting the girls at Fremington for lunch ( for those of you who know the area. )

Had a relatively quiet day with a short walk in Allean Forest near Loch Tummel and another along Killiecrankie Gorge. Will probably mean something to Mo but doubtless no one else. The weather has been glorious, very warm.

It's a bank holiday and we're surprised by the number of pubs and cafes closed but then there are no people around so not surprising I suppose.

Perhaps you've all heard the recent news reports about unusually high numbers of bee swarms. Nine have been reported in our village FB group. Some folk want to know who to ring, others simply enjoy watching them.
