I remember my Dads home brew Pale Ale from about 1970, it was a lovely drink but he could have flogged it to NASA as rocket fuel.

Had similar experience with home brew. In my 20’s, we lived in a cul-de-sac where most of us were in same “boat”, ie young, mortgaged, and skint. Each household used to mount a home brew party, once per month. The only rule was homebrew only, and, simple home made food. Because the strength of the homebrew was so variable, and, so unpredictable, there were some hilarious goings-on.

Where are you managing to watch the golf? It only seems to be on some American channel called NBC or something. Apart from the highlights in the evening which doesn’t seem the same.

Another dry and bright start here with the chance of a shower this afternoon which seems to be the pattern. Took absolutely ages to settle last night and only dozed off around 4 hence being slightly later up.

Sadly it seems to be only Sky etc that have it. I have Virgin sport so am ok.

I was out like the proverbial light last night but paid the price by being wide awake at 0400....just can't win.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
0600 at Tesco was definitely the time to do it (if you are awake anyway).
Got everything I needed, including duck breasts.....I really enjoyed the one I did a few days ago so got 2 smaller ones.
Sat watching golf. Its at Hoylake, my old stomping ground.

My brother tends to do his shopping at that hour as well. He says it's totally empty and he can whizz round and have a chat to the checkout workers

Yep, apart from there being not one single checkout open.....all self serve. I hate those things.

I've only used them once or twice. I'm not a fan of them. Apparently in some places, customers can't leave the store until they produce the receipt to show exactly what they have bought due to theft. People scanning a cheap item in place of the really expensive one they have in the basket.

I used to but have started using them more lately. You still get the odd glitch when something doesn't scan or you need an age check on silly things like paracetamol, etc.

Lovely dry, sunny but cool morning here. Perfect for my walk.

Not sure I'll bother watching any more of the cycling as it's a bit of a done deal now so has lost a bit of excitement, although maybe be good to see if the Yates brothers can still improve a bit. I'll see how I feel and how the weather is.

I will not use them as it is doing someone out of a job, it is not much of one but it bring in money and one less off the unemployment list
and this all started when filling your own car with fuel as before that it was a health and safety issue.......but the save money it was all right

........and yet there's more and more research on AI and robots which will do away with many more jobs in the future. I don't understand the thinking on why they would even want to do that with an ever increasing population?

I Made my protest when Aldi brought them in but the actual staff told me they were more than happy with it.
Same at the library, MrsD refused to use them.
