My father died when he was 64, so never received his pension and was never out of work.

My Dad was 48 when he died, stroke.

A short run this morning, about 7k along the trailway. I'm sure the council have rigged hydraulic rams under one section as it seemed much steeper today!
Off to the Dentist for my annual checkup soon, then down to Poole Park this evening for an amble followed by a bit of a picnic, there may even be a cricket match going on.

I officially retired in 2015 although I still do a bit of invigilating at exams time, but I don't regard that as work, just a few weeks a year.
I enjoy my free time even if I get bored sometimes but that's part of it I say. I find that I am getting a bit lazy as I get older but I am still fit enough to go for long rides and have no aches and pains. Everything is in working order so I am happy with that.

Was walking back towards the village with Bruce this morning and a cyclist comes past, waves, and says hello. A bit random, though not unwelcome. I wonder it it was a cc'er?

I say good morning/afternoon to every one I encounter (cyclist or walker) when walking or cycling.

Most respond, but, a few miserable so and so s don’t, their loss.

Afternoon folks :okay: Another pleasant 30 miler, im beginning to wear a groove in the roads around here .Saw a couple of touring m'cycles behind me so pulled over to let them by....they went by as if royalty without any acknowledgement...well **** you too! Re-retirement, ive been 'off grid' most of my working life....i tried to be legitimately self employed as a gardener for a while but moved so many times i kinda drifted off anyones radar. What this means for the future ive no idea and dont much care
Quite a few heavily laden touring cyclist on my route today, im impressed by how much leg power they must have to haul the weight up and down dale!
