I've finally managed to grow a Monkey Puzzle tree from a seed.

This one's about 6" talk at the moment. I've got another one that's germinated but it's only about an inch.

I have kicked Mr WD out of bed. I forced him to get up early so we can do the shopping.

Poor guy, he has my sympathy.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and well done with your success but... they are monstrously ugly trees.

Lady in the village had a big one blown over a couple of years ago and a lot of people were pleased - it looked really out of place.

I see the anti vaccination comments are starting.I am having mine on Saturday ,If there is another outbreak of Covid I will avoid contact with anyone who I know has not had the jab as is my right just as it theirs not to have it.
I am still in contact with nursing colleagues and they are dreading another outbreak.They remember the many patients who they nursed during the last outbreak who refused vaccination and wished with hindsight they had taken the jab.
Just for the record as a cyclist and keen gardener I had my Tetanus jab also shingles and Pneumonia vaccinations..
Please think again about having the jab it only takes a few minutes

Tetanus is up to date, Pneumonia was done a couple of months back.

Not eligible for Shingles jab yet as I am not yet 70.

Looks like a reasonable rise will be heading in the State Pensioner's direction next year with wage inflation at 8.5%.

I have returned and I didn't have chicken and bacon. I had chicken and stuffing instead so there.

I'm having both my Flu & Covid jabs this coming Saturday morning. Mrs SD is miffed as she is too young at 60.

Tetanus is up to date, Pneumonia was done a couple of months back.

Last jab I've had was probably tetanus about 30 years ago

Much like the NHS health checks, that people either take advantage of or not, it's very much personal choice.

I'm in the 'pro' camp, especially as I am now older. I don't know anyone who died of Covid and only one who was very ill with it but I did know two older people who contracted Pneumonia and literally went from contraction to death in a few days.

That's a scarey one for me and hence why I had the jab recently.

As I understand it Shingles is very nasty especially for us 'oldsters' so I seek to avoid that too. As soon as I am able to I will get my shot.

Afternoon all from a wet Coventry . Dont think I am going to do much today other than a bit of shopping .

Re vaccinations , i believe in the science so am happy to have any that are offered . On the other hand if other people don’t want them I am fine with that too.

The only thing that winds me up ( on the other social networks) is the people that are down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole . You know the type, it’s mind control, it’s birth control, it will kill you , it’s all part of a plan to limit us to 15 minute cities by use of microchips 😂etc etc.

The council delivered a new grey bin today, but it’s not to be used until November. Bloody nuisance. That’s 4 bins taking up space in the drive now.
