Oh. So it's cheap one week and not the next. Check

No, it’s even cheaper the next week . Because it’s not there 😂😂😂😀

Look am not dissing Lidl and Aldi .
Mrs exlaser does our main shop at Aldi every week ( plus I have a real weakness for Lidl bakery 😀) but never a week goes by when I don’t have to go to Tesco or Sainsburys to get something we need that’s not sold by these discount stores. I don’t have a problem with it, they do as they do . 😀

Stuck the telly on. There is a wildlife programme on about the animals in the Serengeti. I’m not sure I like all this giving them names. They’re not pets. I know it’s just to make it seem more personal for the viewers, but it doesn’t sit well with me. Is it just me?

I lived in Gosport for a couple of years, about 1970, I had a bedsit above the tailors on the high street.

Seemed a nice place we stopped by the ferry point and had our picnic then moved on to Stokes bay , near the sailing club for a walk ( plus another coffee 😀 ) .
Is it always that windy there ? Every time we go it’s windy 😀. I really couldn’t imagine sailing there and launching off the beach into the surf . I am much happier sailing on inland puddles. 😂.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

I agree. They mostly sell their own bands and sometimes they just are not as good as named ones. I do have to go to morrisons next door to get the things they don't have.

Biscuits are a prime example. Aldi own brand biscuits are horrible.

No you picked the wrong day as I go fishing there, but when the wind is on-shore in the Solent it can get very rough indeed, more so if it's wind against tide you can get a very short chop which is very uncomfortable in a small boat

Not ime.

Our staples are there every week.

Very occasionally they may be out of stock of something but generally their model (excluding the middle aisle stuff) is to lock in long-term price fixes with suppliers.

I would broadly agree, but, in my experience, both Aldi and Lidl do occasionally have food items as "special buys" although, they don't term them as such. ie they have the item in stock (at a competitive price) until it is sold out, then, no more.

Personally, I don't have a problem with this, as you say, they do have a "regular" offering which is available week to week (including their fresh produce).

I'm with you on this. I find it a bit twee that we the viewers are talked to like young school children as if the 'teacher' is reading the jungle book to us.

I had that discussion on Tuesday, specifically ginger bickies. Both people buy from Aldi as they are 1/2 the price.
I would rather pay full price to get a nice, tasty, good quality dunking ginger bicky🙂
