We now have a power cut. My son was here for an hour or so and says the roads are flooded. And all the rivers are overflowing.

A friend of ours who lives just outside of Swindon, cannot get out of her village due to flooding, and her garden is under water.

Been walking, had to dodge a few puddles, well I didn't want to get my shoes wet.
Said hello to the postwomen, just to see if my vocal cords were still working as I haven't spoken to any one since Sunday

The river at the back of my sons pub has burst its banks.
Fortunate where I live. A few miles from the Mersey but we always seem to miss any flooding.

Hard boil them before going to bed and you'll have a snack ready should you wake up during the night.

We have gale force winds and quite heavy rain, since about 22:00 yesterday (Thursday), just seen on TV News that Lighthouse at South Shields (about 3 miles from us) has had the top canopy swept away by 8 metre waves.

What age do you have to be to get that? Is it once you are claiming the state pension?

Normally £200pa unless you are part of a couple and both are eligible, then you get £100pa each.

Extra £300 this year re cost of living fuel payment.

If you are State Pension age in September of any year you will get it November or December. Not subject to income tax AFAIK.

Morning. Another wet night but it finally seems to be easing. The forecasted heavy rain all day now looks more like being lighter and showery so hopefully we are nearly clear of Babet.

Morning folks Some impressive waves rolling in yesterday not surprising with 60mph winds behind them. Its a shallow beach and even a few hundred yards out there were huge breakers, the sea was a seething cauldron and looked like it was ramped up 15ft higher than normal, awesome!
As Mo says its due to quieten down..phew will be welcoming 20mph conditions!

After lying awake since 03.00 I thought 'sod it' and got up. I know I will regret it later but hey ho.
BIIIG footy match on tv at lunch time, lpool Vs Everton.....so long as I can stay awake for that.

BTW......did you see, the model that once went out with Rahim Sterling (Tammy Brown) has died of a heart attack aged just 38. Makes you think!!
