Normally £200pa unless you are part of a couple and both are eligible, then you get £100pa each.

Extra £300 this year re cost of living fuel payment.

If you are State Pension age in September of any year you will get it November or December. Not subject to income tax AFAIK.

My Google news is warning that this increase will take many of us into the tax 'area' and that we should set money aside for that.

In other news, I plan to make a loaf of wholemeal bread (well I will shove ingredients into the machine thingy).
I have some nice ham and some crumbly cheese to go with it.

Hoorah. The power has just come back on.

No letter for us yet...

I've mentioned in a previous post that we're being quoted for SolarPV and a battery installation. One system is more expensive as it seamlessly switches to battery and back so you don't even realise there's been a power cut. The battery power will only last for a while depending on load and how big the battery is, but with the grid getting a bit wobbly I think it's the option to choose.
Just wondered if you and Mr Welshie had considered it given your rural location?

Morning all, a damp start to the day here in Barnet.
Later today my mate, who is a share holder in the 5 Points brewery in Hackney is treating me to a drink or five. As a shareholder he gets issued beer tokens, as well as dividends which can be used at the pub the brewery owns called the Pembury Tavern.
Today is one of those days.🍺🍺
Before then though will be the usual dog walking and then some domestics.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

We would love to have solar. But knowing out luck 2 weeks after we had it installed the government would start giving solar panels to households like ours without having to have all the insulation and heat pump. It's annoying that they spend up to £40,00 per household on all that, then I know people here who have taken out the heat source pump because they don't work.

Managed a 4 mile wander. It's quite cold, drizzly and breezy but better than it's been.

There's a couple moved into one of the council flats along the road. I knew the guy was a junkie but he must be pretty wasted. He doesn't usually surface until later but I met him on the way home and he asked me the time. Told him five to eight and he asked if it was morning or night! Imagine having your brain as pickled as that.

At least he knew there are two 8 o'clocks in the day.
