Took Bruce for a walk round the local country park. Bearing in mind I now live in town this little beauty is literally 100 metres from my doorstep, and there is two miles of it.

I really really could do without this. The dentist has referred me to the oral specialist at the hospital. She wants to check for cancer on my tongue.
I have honestly had enough over the last few years

I hope it is just a check and nothing else Dave. Fingers crossed for you. :hugs:

Well, I've been diagnosed with chronic fatty liver.

It seems to be systemic rather than anything I've done as my cholesterol is pretty good and my body fat, according to the docs electronic device, is 17%. She's quite enlightened, said it was pointless relying on BMI for someone who has spent 35 years lifting weights almost daily.

It's pretty bad, but the scan I had Friday shows not too much in the way of actual damage...yet.

Some serious restrictions on my diet and the doc wants me to drop a further two stone (I've already dropped 2 since August on my own efforts) to put me around 16.

No more alcohol, ever. Not as bad as it seems, as while I liked a drink I've not been a able to imbibe for a few months due to the beta blockers and I'm doing alright.

With luck things should not worsen, and may even improve somewhat. If I don't play ball then statistically I could be needing a transplant or be dead in the 5 to 15 year range. I'm currently 55 and want to last a bit longer than 70, so I will be following orders to the letter.

Not good news but you have been given the time and opportunity to do something about it. You strike me as a guy who achieves his goals and when you will lose 2 stone you will feel much better and have more energy . Forza Drago

Lovely.......seems to offer everything you need. Pleased for you.

I was a bit dubious being a country boy all my life, but I knew the move meant a lot to Mrs D so manned and and gritted my teeth for her. Fortunately we chose the area sensible and took care choosing the individual house on the site, and it seems to have worked out very well 😀

Barnet,
@Paulus will you have to apply for your bus pass for use outside of the London Boroughs or will your LB freedom pass cover you for bus travel outside London. ?

The LB over 60's oyster, (Boris Pass) ends on my birthday, I'll have to transfer it to the freedom pass. As it is issued by Barnet council, it is valid on TFL services, and network rail services within the oyster zones after 09.30 weekdays, and anytime weekends. Also, it is valid on participating bus companies/ county councils around the country.
