Our bread maker is on the blink. It's a Panasonic that's been working tirelessly for over a decade. The last two loaves have seen the flour and water not mixed properly with large patches of white flour around the bottom edges. Paddle is attached correctly, when I switched it on with an empty basket I could see the paddle rotating as normal, but sticking my hand in and grasping the paddle it was easy to stop it turning ( though I'm not sure if that's normal)

Random thought - Have the carbon brushes in the electrical motor worn out?

See this web site for more details - Worn Carbon Brushes

An other potential cause may be the belt driving the pedals from the motor is slipping and needs replaced.

Barnet,
Morning all.
Today we are meeting up with a couple of friends who are travelling up from Southampton. We are meeting them at Victoria coach station.
I've booked a restaurant, Bistro 1, in Soho for lunch, so I think we will be wandering around the sights including the Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square.

Can't offer any suggestion, sorry.
It doesn't owe you as it has had constant use.
Would you get another Panasonic ?

Morning all.
Heavy rain this morning.
I had a good sleep along with Mo...not actually WITH her but at the same time errrhhh you know what I mean
A busy day in store.......now, I have the tree from my daughter and yesterday she dropped off about 50+ assorted baubles that need hanging......a right PITA that is looking to be.
Anyone free to give me a hand ???

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.

If you have had it for 10 years it certainly doesn't owe you anything. I'd buy a new one. I love my Panasonic bread maker. Treat yourself to a new one.

I think I'll pass on that one. I haven't had a Christmas tree for about 25 years. They are a pain in the deirerre.

Morning all :hello:

Blimey! Hats off to Argos. MrsD ordered a standard lamp from them at 8.30 last night. It was on the doorstep at 7am this morning!
Off to ALDI in Taunton this morning for a pre Christmas shopping blow out.

I think I am in need of a new standard lamp. Thought/hoped it was just the bulb but having tried 2 new ones without success I fear the worst.

We're on the look out but they are as rare as hen's teeth at the moment. Panasonic themselves are out of stock, as are JL, Argos, etc. The model we are interested in is on sale at most places for about £160, but as I said, everyone seems out of stock. There are a couple of ones being offered for sale on the Big River but they're asking £300!
Not to worry, we will mix the stuff in the food processor and use the " Bake Only " function on the Panny until they're back in stock. Of course, I can, and have, made bread the " Proper " way. It can be quite therapeutic, but the panny is so convenient and we can set it to make the bread overnight.
