Good morning folks,
Looking forward to daughter and grandson arriving from Leeds later today. I will make a pasta bake later as it's easy to reheat whenever they arrive. Son sent a variety of coffee beans we'd not tried before, the current one is quite strong and palpitation inducing, still got 3/4 of a Kg to get through before we open the next variety☕️☕️

Today we are taking a train from Potters Bar to Sherborne in Dorset.
We are going with a couple of friends. We have the full 1st class dining experience, breakfast on the way out, 3 course dinner on the way back. There is a carol concert in Sherborne Abbey this afternoon when we get there.

Oops... must have been that Christmas Pudding which messed up my typing, can't possibly have been the bottle(s) of red of the brandies that did it.

One of our number , a retired accountant, pays for all of the drinks and food on a tab, then, sends us an itemised "Bar Bill" the next day.

The result is that I never know what I have had to drink, until the next day, when I get the itemised bill.

It was a lot. Mrs @BoldonLad is being her usual sympathetic self, in such circumstances

It's so nasty outside that it is another pottering day for me.

The sun is out and grandson has just messaged to say that they have left Leeds and are on their way down. They usually have a couple of breaks in the journey, but she's consolidating that into one longer break so she can charge her car en route.
Sun is shining and we're heading up to visit the " Van Lady " who travels around the small villages and sells a variety of wholefoods, including my favourite unsulphured Apricots. We take a few takeaway curry containers which are ideal for storing dried fruits.

My back it still not good, but I'm doing little chores, up to now cleaned the bathroom, the microwave and defrosting the small freezer, as long as I don't twist or move to quickly I'm all right.
Still dosen't feel like Christmas, one thing I haven't done this year is walk round the village to see the Christmas lights as I don't think I could walk that far.
