That'll be painful in the wallet area.
When I bought the car it had a new MOT with no advisorys, all good I thought, but at the nex MOT (this year) it passed, but with advisorys
pitted rear springs, rust on front wheel discs and rubbers worn on track rods ends and have only done 700 miles since last MOT.
The MOT before I bought the car was not done properly (or it was for the sale of the car) so I'm having it all done now about £500
Did you check the previous few years MOT history before buying the car? It would give you a reasonably good idea of how well it had been maintained - along with the service history of course.
Think I'm going senile!
Changed the contact points on the Ajay and couldn't get a spark.
Had to dismantle the whole assembly, sit down and figure out how a coil ignition works.
I've known this stuff since I was 12 but somehow had forgotten.
One hour later and I have a spark! Yay!
Worrying how you can totally forget stuff that you used to be so very familiar with.![]()
And you've yet to find all your teeth? The new Mini Oven / Airfryer arrived this morning. Not as big as I thought it would be, but in a good way, a bit Tardis like inside. It's very smart looking with a lot of nice touches such as a crystal clear illuminated display, and a magnetic centre rack that automatically ejects half way when you open the door and sensors that adjust the time / temperature ratio so the second load of toast doesn't get overdone.
Then it was a trip to meet Mrs Tkk at the dentist to hear the results of her dental bridge getting wonky. Unfortunately the crowned tooth where her bridge attaches needs extracting and there's signs of thinning in the jaw bone. She's been referred to an Orthodontist at the local cottage hospital to see what the best options are. It's probably going to be either a partial denture, or 2 dental implants @ £2000 each plus the cost of a new bridge 😮. Not my decision, but I did point out that £4K might be better spent onreplacing some of the old worn furniturea new bike.
Which wire had you forgotten to connect, or connected to the wrong terminal?
