Good morning all, sunshine through mist here, very atmospheric. One of the red squirrels has just joined us for our last breakfast of the holiday. Will be heading off down the dreaded A9 in an hour or so.

Me being me decided that brute force wins every time and walked out the shop with some 20x70 monsters. Just need to find something interesting in the distance to look at now.

I’m curious what peoples views are on this. I find the habit so many have got into of posting such personal stuff on social media a bit hard to get my head round but it seems to be getting more and more common.

I had heard there was a fatal accident just a few miles out the road yesterday.

Would any of you have put a post like this on Facebook in similar circumstances?

Maybe she's not certain of who were actually there, but it does acknowledge those, who helped but were not on scene.

I once sent a letter to the local ambulance service headquarters to ask them to pass on my thanks to those involved, including a bit of what I did know that happened.
It turned out it was treated as a complaint, and those who did attend had it used against them and held on their records.
I only found out under similar circumstances a few months later. Waiting to be handed over and talking to the paramedics that brought me in that time.

I suppose it is a way of informing lots of people, without having to relate the story over and over again., But, it somehow does not feel 'right" to me

Would you know what would be a good strength for a telescope for bird watching type of thing, nothing huge. I back onto miles of open fields and wanted something to keep on the window sill. Thanks.

Google 'RSPB Spotting Scopes' or 'Bird Spotting Scopes.

Lots of info' online.

Don't get a 'normal' small astronomy telescope, as the image will be upside down.
