We have an instant access savings account, well two in fact, from Santander which gives 6% which is way ahead of anything PBs returned for us.

The savings account is only available to c/a holders.

That seems a very good deal so I checked it out. The 6% figure includes a 1.5% bonus for the first year and anything over £4k gets 0% interest. It's a bit like the 1 year 7% interest rate account I had, you could only invest £300 per month, so each months investment would only earn the 7% for the remaining months of the fixed term.

Replying to myself, don't jump in to post a reply until you've got to the end of the thread, that way you won't repeat what's already been said several times 😁

Chilly but pleasant wander done. I left the house at 7.25 and had my head torch with me but managed without it this morning. I think the daylight is stretching a bit now

Might wander round to the supermarket later. Having to have my porridge without anything in it this morning as I have no blueberries or bananas left.
You mean?
How'd you manage?

Yes, I know. It's the account I use for instant access cash. For that purpose its a very good deal.

Good news everyone
I was looking in The Star (no - I don't know why either)
but I saw an AMAZING hack that I thought you would all like to know about

apparently - if your windscreen is all frosted up

then you can defrost it in SECONDS by turning the heat up and pressing the button that directs the air to the windscreen!!!

I KNOW - AMAZING

THIS WILL LITERALLY CHANGE MY LIFE

or so it says

Honestly - who write this ****

A neighbour, who's a recovery driver, uses hot water on his works vehicle windscreen.
He's on his second windscreen of the year, having returned to work this morning*.

*More early afternoon than morning when they'd replaced his windscreen.

I’ve been doing it for 30 years, I’ve never had a screen crack

Minus five this morning, but I don't think using boiling water on an iced over windscreen helps.

No - it can crack the glass

just use water hot but not so hot that you can;t put your hand in

and remember that you will end up with a pool of water on the floor so you may end up with some ice later on
EDIT - changed spelling on "crack the glass to be what I meant!!!)
