Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Chicken curry with rice today.

The sky is looking somewhat snowy to say the least.

@SpokeyDokey you're very accurate in your summing up. I've said for a number of years I will move to an ebike when the time is right. I have money put to one side for that. I don't think now is the time. I'm rapidly rebuilding my fitness after the RTC. Last Saturday I mixed it with six riders 15 - 20 years my junior for 60 miles with an average of 15. While I can do that I'm OK. I'm not sure I'll regain my climbing ability.

@Exlaser2 - I can "borrow" the money from my pension savings and when my PI claim is paid that cash will replace it. I know that's counting chickens. My wife's illness has taught me to grasp the moment, take a chance.

My Cervelo is the best bike I've ever ridden. #3 is simple - i love my old bike. I'm not sure i can abandon her!!!!! My fear is nothing will match it. I'm very much leaning towards the respray option. My Kinesis, by switching wheels, covers winter, touring and gravel covers much riding. A new summer bike completes the range.

Suppose we don't get a summer after you get a new summer bike. Can we blame you?

Ok , I totally understand that point of view. When your in our age group there is no point putting things off as there no certainty that we will still be around when we get to that point. 😂😀

What you could do is go the new bike route and keep the old one , making sure you can transfer the new group set and wheels to the old bike if the new bike doesn’t live up to expectations. Then sell on the new frame . Job done . 😀
