Barnet,
Good morning all.
I have an early physio appointment at the hospital, 8.00am, so a bit of an early start.
It's a bit chilly out there, but is due to be quite warmish later on, 18⁰c.
There are road works at the top of the road for the next 3 weeks, actually the road is closed which entails a detour via another road. The local bus cannot get down because the detour is via side roads involved in the works, which is now one way only for the time being. It's a bit of a mess. The traffic congestion along the main road stretches back for nearly two miles because of the works.
Hey ho, enjoy your day everyone. :cuppa:

Paul's tip of the day. I've discovered a new app - Petrol Prices. Does what it says on the tin. Enter location and the app gives all the local prices. What I didn't expect was for it to confirm how misleading the supermarkets are. We're overwhelmed with supermarkets locally. You would think one brand would have the same price across its stations? No.

Tesco (3) 131.9, 129.9, 128.9
ASDA (3) 132.7, 131.7, 129.7
Morrison's (2) 131.7, 128.7

I pass all of the above regularly.

To be fair Shell and BP locations have widely varying prices but those garages can be independents, part of different groups.

I can understand Tesco Oban being higher but Chorley, Buckshaw and Leyland? Nope. That's a rip off. Chorley and Buckshaw are 2 miles apart!!!

When I was (am I allowed to use the word) working and doing 500 miles a week I found that app very useful.
Doing so few miles now I just use the local Tesco Express.

Morning all :hello:
Yay, Fish Friday. :hungry::cheers:

Busy morning ahead.
Firstly, I have to nip down to the village and post a parcel.
Best mate and his missus are coming round at 10am.
MrsD will be having a good old chin wag with her, whilst me and my mate set about finishing his Bantam. Hopefully we can get it road tested by lunchtime, then we'll have a walk to the harbour for fish & chips and cider to celebrate.
Weather's looking excellent.

Busy day, cycled into town for an early GP appt and then volunteering this afternoon, meeting some pals on our motorcycles early evening. So a nice packed day

Off to Dorchester for a couple of beers and a meal lunchtime. I will take it easy as I didn't sleep well last night and I don't want to fall asleep on the train home and wake up at Waterloo Station 😁

I did that as a teenager.I was p*ssed and got the train from Liverpool to the Wirral. Woke up, pitch black, in the sidings at West Kirkby.
It was 4 in the morning and I faced a 4 mile walk home while bladdered.

On a family holiday, three kids under six, we took the French autocar service to Bordeaux. The conductor said we would arrive in Bordeaux at 6.00am. Later Mrs P insisted it was 8.00 and an alarm was set.

I woke at 6.00am and glanced sleepily out of the window as the train pulled out of a station. All I saw was EAUX!!!!! 😡

The next stop was Biarritz! Unfortunately our car, packed with everything one needs for three kids under six, was off-loaded in Bordeaux.

Cost a fortune to get back to Bordeaux by train. It was a frosty day. 🤣
