Good morning :sun: forecast is for 23⁰ which is a bugger. I have small onion plants which must go in the ground today. Rain was forecast for the afternoon so I deliberately left it till today. There was a smattering of rain at 4.30.....just enough to raise and then dash my hopes!

We have an appointment with Mrs P's consultant. Face to face. It shouldn't be sinister but he is reviewing her latest CT scan. Bloods etc. remain good but you never know. 🤞

Beyond that I'm trying to get the house clean. We fly to Nice on Thursday for a few days. I'd like to leave it shipshape.......now can some stick a broom up.........whoops. Sorry.

Morning.
Overcast here after rain yesterday evening. Fortunately I'd completed lawn mowing and tidying up just before it started so tip trip in a bit.
Weights session later.

Some cracking cycling around Nice(I've not been been, just seen on various videos). Pogacar lives there so if he's at home you could burn him off on a few climbs...^_^

That's tremendous. A 14.5 average, at least, with youngsters. You rode to Blackpool, turned round and rode back again. If I've understood you correctly?

We're planning Morecambe to Scarborough in July. The chat is to attempt an average of 15 with a group of six working together. The expected elapsed time is 11 hours. 128 miles with a moving time around 9 hours.

I may be misunderstanding some of this. To me 36 speed means 36 cogs on the cassette. Or are you referring to a 12 speed cassette with a triple chain ring?

Am I very wrong? Confused? And 105?
Correct, over the Pennines to Blackpool and back. I did it for a bit of fun, but had to have sponsor money to do it. Short stop in Blackpool to get something to eat.
The kids put their hearts into the ride.

A double chainring with 6 speed block on the back, combined with a SA three speed hub.

The 105, a triple, seven speed freewheel on a SA five speed hub. Four levers controlled the whole shebang.

Adelaide to Darwin

Well 40 years on congratulations again. Tremendous effort. Over the Pennines in our area is a big challenge. 👏

Interesting read about the gearing.

Rained overnight here in Poshshire. Heavy rain with chunder and blunder forecast this avo.

Think I caught a bit too much sun yesterday, got a bit of a headache. Have to go out this morning to look at a car for Daughter #3 but this afternoons visit will be reluctantly cancelled.

I think for those of us prone to headaches/migraine the thundery weather can set them off. Got a mild headache myself that started last night and still hasn’t totally shifted

Just a gentle stroll along the riverside this morning.

Try the A58, out of Littleborough. Interesting two mile incline if your eastbound, westbound is down.

The gearing was done at work, because "they" said it couldn't be done. So I did it.
That ride was the first long distance ride using it. Watching something last night reminded me about the ride.

Minor panic over. Was working on shower, installing new mixer cartridge and cleaning NRV and filters etc and the cartridge came apart inside the housing. Pipework is all enclosed and inaccessible so briefly faced with vision of having to cause a lot of mess/hassle to get at it. Fortunately got it out and fitted old one back in and it's all good. Stress level around an 7.5/10.

It's also got very warm/close here. Outside temp showing 18C but feels way warmer. Think some rain on way.

Lunch in a bit then some tension busting weights in the garage.
