The Retirement Thread

I all my cycling days I have never cleaned a bike, wiped and oiled the chain etc but never a clean.

I can't stand to see any of my bikes dirty, or even dusty. They get cleaned regularly, especially after a wet mucky ride.

It was hot last night, in my bedroom with ther window open it was 25c and only dropped at 05:30 to 24.8c
Pity we can't save this warm air for the winter then we wouldn't need the WFA

Bruce walked. No ball this morning, even at 0700hrs it was too warm for him.

Bit fresher this morning.
Will have a stroll down to Watchet station at lunch time and hop on the train to the Railway Inn for Sunday lunch, then walk back home.

That reminds me. I have not had boiled eggs for years.
I must rectify that.

Bit cooler and overcast but dry.
Dead mouse disposed of, tea made, porridge on the go.

Not sure on plans, I might get hedge trimmer out again and clip the willow trees as they are growing like crazy.

Got my walk in + an extra 50 yards so am well pleased.
At one stage I thought I would get caught in the rain but it bypassed me.

When my butt is dry I rub vaselline on it. Does a fine job.

Interesting.

Yesterday morning put my washing through the machine as normal. Because the forecast was rain early to mid afternoon I left it in the basket next to the back door intending to put it out later on.

1600hrs rolls around and I decide to put it on the line, only to discoverer it's all bone dry already. Now  thats warm!

I keep drive train in decent condition, I predominatly only ride in the dry unless caught out so I've always used Squirt wax on it.
As for rest of bike, if it gets muddy etc I will wash and a couple times a year I'll apply some car wax to frame to make it all shiney but I'm not super fussy like a few I know.

Seems to be a no these days. Shame, as there’s plenty who can discuss things without it getting heated but rules are rules I suppose.
