Dodged a bullet today. It's the club C2C ride today - Morecambe to Scarborough - +/- 128 miles and a lot of climbs. The colonoscopy nurse asked me about exercise. We discussed cycling, she was OK with some but I asked me to consider the consequences of starting to bleed in the middle of nowhere. I decided to pull out.

Then there's the heat. Maximum on the route appears to be 29⁰ at 2.00pm.

Start was at 7.00am with bag drop before then. I booked the 5:36 Preston to Lancaster, arriving 5:53, then 4 mile ride to the start. Train was cancelled, next one at 6:36 arriving Lancaster at 6:53. I would have missed bag drop and probably have to ride solo with my overnight gear.

The gods smiled on me.

19 here with a high of 26 later. Still too hot for me. Maybe I need to move even further north!

I was out weedkilling the gravel at 6am then did the riverside trail and got a few things from the shop on the way back to make sandwiches. It’s too hot to eat hot meals.

PJs back on already!

A change next week. Hopefully Monday’s rain and lack of sun will give the house a chance to cool down.

Mrs D has always been a bit resistant to moving North of the border, but since I pointed out its 10 or more celsiuses cooler she's been a bit more thoughtful when I raise the topic.

Morning all :hello:

New phone delivered this morning, so I will no doubt be sorting that out most of today.
I hate changing phones/tablets/PCs etc.
