One day at a time, retirement ain't about a race, take care

Will do Jon.

Kids off to school, wife's not really in a position to want to do much , I'm hungry...hungry for a full English and there's nothing in the fridge that resembles the neccessary ingredients...so currently sat in a local cafe...

Im on a stone cold serious diet now, 105kg is my target, so a mix of grass and the aroma of bacon is it for me now.

It’s sticking to something long term that’s my problem. I just find eating so comforting.

Looks good.
Those days have, sadly, gone for me. Appetite is slowly (too slowly) coming back and I eat 3 meals a day but they are small meals.

Barnet,
Now, after 6 days of sunshine in the far north of Scotland, at last some proper Scottish weather. It's raining.

Apparently Thunderstorms are coming our way tomorrow

but Met Office forecast just say heavy rain

whatever - we shall see

off to pick the grandkids up from school this afternoon

have to go early as the middle one's bus is due early - 2 p.m. - turns out it is end of term

which a damn disgrace - school should stay open longer and keep these damn kid working and off the cycle paths and stuff

(note - my opinion MIGHT have been different when I was a teacher)

not really hungry as such - so it is just in my mind
I do eat a reasonably balanced diet - although balanced based on large larger proportions than it should be a rather more sugar

Very much this. I like breakfast, lunch and dinner roughly at the same times and often realise that I’m not truly hungry but just enjoy it. I can eat large portions too.

On the train to Poole, it's the Weymouth train and very busy with people heading for Southampton and the Cruise Ships. Just eaten a delicious sandwich followed by an Almond croissant from Gails bakery outside Kensal Rise station. Can't wait to get home to the quiet of the garden.

I know what you mean. I seem to be getting more and more noise intolerant.

What is it with shops? Booths in Chorley. Almost empty. I wanted two slices of what my mum called "nice ham." Ahead of me in the queue of three are two elderly women shopping together. You can imagine. After the assistant had gone back and forth for them multiple times......"oh, a little bit more of that" and "can you take a couple of slices off and see how much that is?"........"no, it's alright. I will have those two slices you took off".......I could feel my life ebbing away. AND THEN.......the lass behind the counter said to me "sorry love. I'll be back in a minute."

14 minutes to buy two slices of "nice ham"

Then I got to the till. Two tills open. 11 people queuing. Aaaagggghhhhhh
