Aye, ife never found a breathable jacket worth the name.

In the dibble they gave use quite expensive Goretex car costs BITD and they were always referred to as boil in the bag.

I’ve got a decent Montane one that I paid about £200 for and it’s the best I’ve had, but you still eventually overheat.

Enjoyed my breakfast. A 3 egg omelette with mushrooms and peppers.

Riverside trail done. I was still sweating without a jacket so I’m glad I didn’t wear one. It doesn’t matter how much you pay for a jacket, if you are a person that overheats quickly, you still end up like a boil in the bag meal!

I remember when I bought my 1st good breathable jacket and being disappointed when I still sweated when hill walking in the Lake District.
As you say, they can only do so much.

Morning folks :okay: soggy old day here so going for a spin isnt likely.... Getting twitchy to get my great planting scheme underway but will have to wait until the growing season is winding down, its looking quite anarchic at the mo with rampant growth everywhere and loads of plants/trees in pots waiting to go in. Ive never been one for an orderly garden but getting the main plants in would give structure and backbone and free up space for a greenhouse. :okay:

WOW! Just WOW! I love this. 👏👏👏
Thanks Paul, BoldonLad glad you appreciate my gardening endeavours! ^_^ Its been quite a struggle as ive had to get rid of tons of rocks and hundreds of barrow loads of gravel, im a tenacious ****er though and kept at it. Im going for a ornamental/fruit/flower orientated theme with loads of wild life friendly plantings - i do like seeing/hearing bees everywhere! Ive already planted rowan, aronia, blueberry, blackberry, and other fruits and dont mind sharing with the birds! ^_^

Early on I had my cuppa plus KitKat then went back to bed for an hour.
Just had a warm croissant with runny honey (which is now not so runny).

A food/veg/salad question for you.
When I have eg a roast I enjoy my veg/salad (not sprouts xx( ).
Must be a new thing but both my daughter and son have taken to adding fresh fruit to it eg yesterday's offering was mixed green salad WITH SLICED STRAWBERRYS.
Definitely not to my liking, I left the strawbobs to one side and ate them later.

I remember visiting a nice restaurant many years ago which did that. I quite enjoyed it but it certainly felt different.

right
I'm up and brain has started working - as much as it does anyway

SWMBO is awake and I have made her tea

we are supposed to be going off shopping for a new dining room table this afternoon
apparently the lounge needs sorting out!
It was always on the list - when I moved in (before we were married, so just over 10 years ago - I changed the fireplace, which was aweful, and got decent sofas and stuff but the wallpaper and carpet were left
when the grandkids started to come along we decided to leave it until they stopped throwing up and dropping stuff all over it

anyway - the sofas are getting a bit of a problem now and the table has always been a bit too big for the space
so they have to be changed
apparently - but the sofas are a problem

and as it looks like it is going to be raining that seems good idea - especially as there is a sale that ends today (although I suspect another will start ina few days!)

anyway - at least the thunder seems to have gone from teh forecast

I have a Showers Pass cycling jacket. Cost an arm and a leg but the best cycling jacket than I have owned. I feel the cold and Ihave felt too hot on a couple of occasions but mostly works just fine.

Having a large coffee and Pain au Chocolate to recover from my Waitrose shop - I needed to spend £70 to use my £7 off voucher, I did worry that I might be short of the £70 threshold when I offloaded the trolley at the till but no worries, I'd overshot the threshold by a comfortable margin of £80 😯 - on the upside I now have enough Gaviscon to last a lifetime

welsh dragon

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
This is the 1st year since we planted the orchard that we have successfully managed to produce fruit. Cherries, pears, cooking apples, eating apples. It's noticeable that this year is also the 1st year that we haven't had any squirels. They seem to have disappeared, just like the rabbits.
