Fairly quiet on the bird feeder this morning. 4 goldfinches flitting around and a solitary pigeon pecking at what's left of the grass.
I haven't seen any of our resident blackbirds or robins recently. Hopefully they will return in the autumn.

Morning all :hello:

Watchet was buzzing last night with a live band and fireworks at the harbour.
The new harbour management team are doing a fantastic job - the marina has been dredged and was full of colourful yachts; makes a change from the muddy mess the old lot left behind.
We went down there about 9pm and stayed until the end of the firework display. Had to nip in to Pebbles for a quick cider as we were getting a bit thirsty.

Off to Allercott Farm at 10am for a couple of hours riding my trials bike and then off to meet our mates for Sunday lunch at the Railway Inn.

Watchet, & especially the harbour, looks much improved since I lived there 50 years ago!

Good morning. A little grey and overcast but that will do. As long as I can wander around in shorts, T-shirt and an early morning fleece I'm happy. Busy old day ahead. Mrs P is going for a routine scan, then we head off to Media City Manchester to see National Portrait Gallery Unframed I have no real idea of what to expect but the reviews are brilliant, after this I suspect we will have lunch.

In between I need to exercise, gather damsons, pick tomatoes, feed guinea pigs, cut grass (rain forecast from (Tuesday) and write a tricky email. Phew!!!!! Onwards to the allotment, tomatoes, damsons and guinea pigs. Might try to gather eggs from a broody hen, she's a vicious so and so.

Excellent - I rode lots of long distance trials down your way, I remember one year on the Neil Westcott Trial the roads were closed on Exmoor due to snow and ice but that didn't stop the event - I rode up onto Exmoor to see the road a sheet of ice and about a dozen guys on enduro bikes all on their asses laughing like mad because they couldn't even stand up, I managed to stay upright on my Beta Alp and rode along the gutter - I must dig out the photos! Anyway have a good one - keep them feet up!! I can tell you right now you didn't need that dab!

Strange, my feeder was busy yesterday but I haven't had Gold finches for years. We used to get flocks of them but sadly no more.
Yesterday we had Nuthatch, Cole Tit, LT Tits plus all the normal ones. Plus a gadzillion Sparrows.
