Hot happy. Just collected my new glasses, varifocals as normal. Up close theyre lovely, but distance theyre no better than the naked eye. Wouldn't feel comfortable driving in them.

The cost me £600 and I went to a small opticians in the hope of a better product (the wat Specsavers cut their lenses leaves too small a field of view to read comfortably) and I'm very disappointed.

The optician isn't in today so im back next week to see what's gone wrong. The only good news is they're only a 10 minute stroll away so it won't waste huge swathes of time or fuel.

Been using specsavers varifocal for years, but I get the "eleat range" which works up and down and side to side.
Normal ones only do up and down, never had any problems with them even from day one

I have always been happy with Specsavers but ours is difficult** for me to get to as there is absolutely no parking.
So, about 6 months ago I decided to try Specsavers Home Service which is a totally separate company.
The result is truly awful.
I have no confidence in them so will put it down to experience.
** I have just found out there is blue badge parking which I can walk to with my stroller.

Morning. We are in for a dry morning. No sign of rain until later this afternoon.

I‘ve done Wordle and just having a big mug of decaf and a browse before I head out.

Morning folks :okay: Have decided to grow less veg and more flowers as every leaf munching critter seems to home in on anything i grow. Think i'll have a bed of hybrid tea roses which gives lots of colour with minimal maintenance. Gave away a load of beetroot tuther day and expect a load of horse **** in exchange - roses will like that! :okay:

Good morning. A lovely start to the day, sunny and cool.........just like a pensioner retiree.....the morning forecast is great, the afternoon is less so. 95% heavy rain at 3.00pm. I will be at Ewood at 3.00pm. No doubt our parade will get rained on.

Paul, you shouldn't do it. This never ends well. Sometimes you just can't help yourself. I have woken to a stream of Facebook posts!! 😢 This isn't political.

Our MP is Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House, a very decent man I have met, received help from and whom I admire. Yesterday a Facebook poster was berating him over travelling expenses including £100k in flights. OK, on the face of it this is very significant, i needed to understand. I decided to delve deeper and read the House of Commons register of financial interests. This was enlightening for me and I learned a lot. I really should NOT try to explain these things to people on Facebook. Time to move on Paul.
