I don't know if it's because it's an easterly wind today, but there's a distinct whiff coming in that smells like they are spreading manure not too far away!

A good question Dave and one I've never been given a medical answer to. I'm diagnosed as epileptic, four fits in my lifetime. I have three triggers, tiredness, high blood sugar from a sugar rush or low sugar through not eating. About 20 - 30 minutes ahead of a potential fit I get sweaty, plus an "odd" distant feeling about me, occasionally my vision makes me think I'm looking down a tunnel. It's a very weird feeling. It's usually the first two. Experience tells me if ignore this I'll have a fit.

Lack of sugar because I haven't eaten but I know through experience if I eat something very sweet the sugar rush (high) will trigger a fit. Something savoury or very plain is the solution and works within minutes. On a bike ride I always carry sausage rolls and/or pork pies.

My own fault yesterday; two boiled eggs at breakfast and a very small baked potato for lunch (crap cafe). Then we walked five miles in the sun. Stupid boy.

Unpleasant then but at least you (sort of) understand what the triggers are and can do something to avoid the worst.
Enjoy your meal.

That was a close run thing.
My appointment to have blood taken was at the hospital hub at 09.57.
After my early morning cuppa and biscuit I fell asleep.
Woke again at 09.45  .
Surprising what a splash of cold water and a squirt of aftershave together with shock will do for you.
I was 5 minutes late but went straight in, quick jab and was out again in minutes, one arm slightly lighter.
Sun is shining so may sit on patio with an iced coffee.

Great to see someone starting up a business in my old village. Like most places all the small shops disappeared over the years. When I was growing up there was 2 grocers, 2 butchers, a haberdashers, a shoe shop and a garage that sold petrol and serviced cars. Even a fish and chip shop at one time. All for a population of only 1,000. Sadly they all disappeared to be left with only a Nisa shop. Maybe small independents will return. Some people are growing tired of huge supermarkets full of ultra processed garbage and would like to return to better quality stuff, even if it is a bit more expensive.

Hope they do well.

I think mine seized several years ago!

I did find it useful for stirring my tea but have stopped having sugar now so it seems redundant

went for a ride this morning

when I got home I saw that on Strava I had go a PB one "The Bridge"

quite significantly faster than eve a few days before

this was because

a) there was a tail wind - not massive but whatever
b) I had checked and not know the start and end of the segment

but mostly because a young lad on a ebike - a proper one and he wasn;t wearing the standard balaclava - but I was going uphil at 19 mph - i.e. well over the motor cutoff point - and had been since the start of the segment

but he went past with one hand on the bars and the otehr one holding the Vape he was smoking
AND NOT PEDLLING UPHILL!!!

I might have been rather annoyed at him just passing like that and might possibly have accelerated

anyway - my average speed on that segment was just over 20 mph - which os not bad for a kn******d old fat bloke with asthma and riding an ebike with the motor just doing nothing but adding some resistance to the mechanism and weight to the system

and I kept up with the you g lad who noticed and started pedalling but still diddn;t pull away

and no - I was not on a position or close enough to be drafting

anyway - amazing what annoyance can do

my wife told me to have a puff (stop laighing at the back!!) on my inhaller when I got home a few minutes later as I was still out of breath!!!

We have the 2 youngest grand kids tonight

Their parents are taking the oldest out as she will be 13 tomorrow
(Yes - I know 13 year old girl - pray for us!!!!)

anyway - apparently they are taking her out with her fronds and going to an Event place thingy

she wants to do a Squid Games thing (???)
he was trying to persude her to do go karts
he was thinking the safety of go karts might be dodgy so it would be best of he had a go as well
purely to check for safety of course!!!

but she was fixed on squid game

we are returning the 2 boys tomorrow in time for cake
whci I won;t be able to eat but whatever!
