Morning.
Currently dry and bright but forecast for showers again. Autumn is definitely here to stay.
Would like to get a proper ride in if I can, if not it's the dreaded T word again. I've just put a load of cycling kit in the wash so I'm hoping I can dry inbetween showers outside rather than in utility room. So much fresher and better to dry outside.

Looking like a decent day, today (apart from a chance of a bit of thunder this afternoon). Walk this morning & meeting up with a friend for a local pedal at lunchtime.

Here in Oz I had an Anaesthetist who stuck a needle into the back of my hand which made me relaxed an drowsy but I could still hear what was going on.
Had to pay an excess to him as his full fee was not covered by my private medical fund.

Many years ago I fell off the scaffolding on our garage roof.......an embarrassing tale I'll save for another time. In the fall I damaged the muscle that controls the opening and closing of the eyelid. My left eye was closed for around four months. One morning I woke up and it was working again. That was a weird experience.

With the muscle working again I was offered surgery to raise the eyelid as much as possible. This involved shortening the muscle so it had less work to do. There I was flat out on the operating table, wide awake with the area around my eye numb. The surgeon made his cuts incisions and shortened the muscle. Within moments the anesthetist had reduced the anesthetic sufficiently for me to blink so the surgeon could see the effect. Then it was numbed again and he cut a bit more.....................this went on waking the area up 3-4 times until he was happy with the result. Incredible!

Good morning. It's a bit damp and grey and then the weather isn't great either! I've been AWOL with a couple of busy days but I'm all caught up now. Today should have been a cycling day but I lost a filling on Monady and the only appointment I could get was for 12.00 today. Some would say I should cycle to the dentist...............well yes, possibly I should. I'm not going to though.

Instead I've booked my first spin session for several months as the start of my bad weather regime. That's at 9.30! I need to keep the exercise going. To my delight I've lost a kilo in two weeks, only another four to go. Tonight we're heading in to the big city of Manchester to see Derren Brown at the Lowry. Catch you all later............probably from the dentist's waiting room.

Biblical rains in Oban, ferry cancelled. The weather forecast is for more like that for the next five days. On my way home. The Hebridean way will still be there in better weather.

A certain Mr Dundee would have come up with something. Maybe skin a Kangaroo, cut it in strips and "Tie me TV down" or similar.

Good morning folks,
The roofers have arrived to replace a broken tile, of course it's one that is just under the ridge tile so theres a bit more work involved removing and refitting some ridge tiles. Another chap is here changing a faulty immersion heater which means draining down the system. Mrs Tkk has gone to her yoga class and I am left making coffee and suppling biscuits to the workmen.

Woke for a riddle at 05.30 then (after enjoying that) it was a question of staying up in the dark or resting my eyes.
Couldn't believe when I re awoke to find it was 08.45. Cannot recall last time I slept so well.
Rain due later this morning and then (hard to take in) we are in for 10 days of the wet stuff.....eugh!

Same here. Pity as my old neighbours are coming up to the area for a week on Saturday and we were hoping to meet up for some walks. Hopefully we'll manage something between the showers. We will no doubt have a couple of meals out too which is nice for a change.
