Good morning. It's a beautiful autumnal day in Lancashire. It's chilly though at 6⁰. I put the heating on, the boiler is flashing a fault and the reset button had no effect. I doubt it's serious, I just need to find the manual. This will take more time than I've got this morning.

We are home. I'm enjoying a coffee and the unusual feeling that there's nothing I need to do - forgetting the boiler of course. Over four days in London I didn't find a single quality cup of coffee. That's surprising.

The pedalling pensioners meet in a couple of hours. Quality coffee and sausage rolls will be consumed. My Galibier Tourmalet jacket arrived while we were away. It's a thing of beauty, an excellent fit. I may pop it on today to test for warmth. Once we get going I'll be fine but setting off at 8.45 it may feel cool.

@mikelow enjoy your miles 👍

Barnet,
Good morning, a bit cool here 6⁰, but no frost yet. It's a bright start to the day here.
MrsP wants to go to a garden centre near to Forty Hall, so we'll walk the dog there first and then hit the garden centre whichismore or less opposite. We need some more daffodil, snowdrop and Tulip bulbs for next year.
The first of the bin lorries has just come down our road by the way.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning all.
Back in Blighty and it's a bit nippy but fortunately sunny and calm which is good as I have several outside chores to do first of which is sort out weathervane which is now leaning at a very scary angle so I need to build scaffold and sort before it makes a final bid for freedom and kills a delivery driver or postman walking to house.
Then usual boring stuff of ton of washing, grass to cut, carpets to vaccum of a weeks worth of cat hair etc etc.

Good morning folks, eight pages of comments caught up on. Sun is shining but the temperatures are starting to drop, will leave off putting on the heating until 1st October. We're heading up to Edinburgh on Friday, back on Monday. We're heading usually get the train but this time we're flying out of Bournemouth as it's just a short visit. Taxi to the airport is costing more than the flight, we'll get the airport bus the other end.
Have a peaceful day folks

Just found out Daughter #3's FiL died last night. Possible heart attack. A neighbour bravely tried CPR to no avail.

Nice guy, we got on well, and he thought the world of my lass, as I do his lad. Only 60, 2 1/2 years older than me. He seemed chipper and lively at his 60th Brithday party in July. I guess there'll be a funeral in the coming weeks.

Maybe we should all just move to another country. Nobody seems to be happy where they are!

First frost on the roofs and car windscreens when I went out. It's absolutely gorgeous though. One of these mornings it really makes you feel alive. Dry and bright with a lovely cool, crisp air. Riverside trail done plus a loop through the park.

I broke a school friends wrist playing cricket.. We both ran to catch a ball that had been lofted high.. We were both looking at it, not where we were running. We met at speed. I caught it. He got a free trip to hospital 🏏
I know some PE teachers can get really competitive, and expect those they're teaching to be similar, but to break someone's wrist just to get the ball is going a bit too far.

I is back.
Dentist can't see me till Thursday pm. TBF I am not in any pain, just have (what feels like) a crater where the filling was.
A beautiful day......while looking out from my lounge.
My flat/house extension thingy has always been colder than the main house. This means putting the heating on 1st thing on these cool mornings. It soon warms up though then is quite cozy.
I have a bird feeder station outside my patio door and I have just been watching a Nuthatch, a very handsome bird. It's very busy out there as there are also Bluetits, Great tits, LTTits and of course lots of Sparrows.
