Good Morning. It's a beautiful bright and breezy day, quite mild. A strange thing happened. I woke at 3.15, normal, gave up trying to sleep at 3.45, normal, went downstairs, coffee, crossword, normal, 5.15 I felt very sleepy and went back to bed and slept till 7.50 ABNORMAL!!

Happy Birthday @gavroche

Today, you ask? Well you didn't but I'm going to tell you anyway. No surprises there. I reckon 4 - 5 hours on the allotment should finish all the pre-winter jobs. That will just leave leaf collection and grass cutting which is hardly urgent. Later I have a PT session and then we're going to the village club. Good friends and neighbours are flying south for the winter. They have family in Australia and spend November to April there and May to October at home.

My new Lusso bib tights arrived yesterday. Terra Cargo meaning they have side pockets and a pocket across the back. The fit is excellenty and the material feels great.

Mrs P went shopping yesterday. She seems to have forgotten we're going out between 5.00 and 7.00pm tonight. Somebody will have to eat this lot........xx(xx(xx(

I saw these in the Co-op yesterday so bought a pack to try. They were quite pleasant.

     Now, don't ask why but I suddenly had the urge to Google "Irn Bru made from girders"..................that's how it goes with me, so I did. I have often wondered about AI that's Articial INTELLIGENCE! This means it's clever, at least it likes to think it's clever. Here are the opening eight words of the AI generated response

"No, Irn-Bru is not made from girders,"

I'm not sure AI is ready to take over the planet

Had me in stitches for a few moments

Blood test this morning

I don;t have a form - which is a first
I am told that the place will get the details from their computer

not even sure what they are testing for - except for the Coeliac test thing
will be interesting to see what the levels are - I am getting different numbers as to what is OK but as I started on 128 (the highest the machine can show) and got it down to 8 (normal range up to 6) then I think I am doing OK

anyway - we shall see

after that - dunno - I shall see what the weather is like and maybe go for a ride somewhere
I will have to start thinking o fthe winter rides - the canal paths at the far end will be a bit wet now

Been for blood test

bit weird - and un-nice
firstly - normally I go there and by the time one of the nurses come to get us the seats are full
this time I was the only person there

so - I thought - quick in and out and I can walk out leaving a small amount of bodily fluid behind
(sorry)

but it didn;t go like that

all was fine at the start - then she took ages to fine me on the system - and print off the stickers

then she started the actuall "removal of bodily fluid" thingy

and
and
well I dont look - because only true psychopaths would do that (like my wife)
but after a couple of minutes she apologised and said it was going a bit slow
then after another few hours she said the second bottle had "just stopped"
she wiggled the whatever around a bit and general fiddled
and after a day or three she gave up
then switched to the other arm

just to be sure she used a full size whaling harpoon on that one (or so it felt)
but at least it only took a few seconds

she said the second arm was "much faster"

anyway - I didn;t pass out - which is good

and they didn;t want a blood pressure test - which is also probably as well!

You are not alone, I NEVER look when I am having a blood sample taken, in fact, I usually get in first, and just own up to the Nurse "I am a wimp", saves any doubts 😂
