Well today's the day

Reunion thing for the Old Birks
i.e. people I went to school with
Moses couldn't come

Usually these are in London - as most people we managed to contact live down there
but this year it is back "up here" at the school we all went to
and includes a tour of the place as it is now
and dinner and stuff

It should be interesting - especially as partners are allowed, so my wife is coming

I have been back once since we left - for a day when I was training as a teacher

lets just say the schools I taught in were rather different to the one I went to - and had rather different kids!

When we were there were were told that they didn;t spend money on fancy decorations and stuff like that
because the important thing was the teachers and resources

not that the resources seem to be overly good - often homemade and old

from what I remember - when they had to start changing full fees - after the direct grant was removed just after we left - then decorations and stuff became more important
and resources became more modern!

it will be interesting

@Dirk - Happy Birthday!

We have reconvened. A decision made, the Pedalling Pensioners will meet at 10.45 for a short ride to a favourite cafe. The toasties ate to die for. The route has multiple options to extend if the weather brightens as forecast.

Well thats sorted then!!

I was all set up to go to this reunion thingy and I checked our shared calendar
which say it is tomorrow

but we were talking about it yesterday and we were deciding what clothes to wear

also I had an Age UK appointment this afternoon that has been cancelled but I wouldn't have booked it if we were also supposed to be somewhere else

so I was confused - and dates and things are the sort of thing I always worry about - whcih has got a lot worse sine that stroke in January

so I have checkd on out shared calendar
and on the whatsApp group where it was all organised
and they all say tomorrow

so it isn;t today

for some reason my wife was reading the calendar a day ahead and I just assumed she was right (!!)

but it is all sorted now

Was there much head shaking when you realised that you'd to wait another day before meeting up?

Laminate floors, windows, window frames etc have been cleaned..
What a great time for Bonnie to walk into the kitchen after I'd put her harness & lead on, to look at the open back door, throw up on the floor then drag her lead through the 🤮 and trot off into the garden 🤷‍♂️

Apparently we are the BEST gtandparents ever and the kids love us more than anyone else ever
and my wife is the best mother ever to exist

In totally different news, the grandkids Dad wants to go out on the piss with some friend on Saturday night and their Mum is working early on Sunday (as usual) and has to be on the bus at about 6
and we are having them overnight on Saturday
