Good morning all.
A grey damp start to the day here.
A weigh in for Millie at the Vrts this morning, whilst we are out on a walk we will call in.
Sainsbury's are delivering the weekly goodies between 9 and 10.
This evening we are at a U3A quiz night at Old Fold golf club where I can put my quizzing skills to the test. They are serving lasagne for the food option, I'm having the best version, MrsP the veggie.

You might have picked up I'm Treasurer to our u3a. How regular are the quiz evenings? We find it difficult to tempt people out in the evening unless it's theatre.

Yeah - that is just not a pie

I remember going to one place and when I ordered it the waitress came back and apologied that they had enough "pies" available
but had run out of pastry tops
and would I be OK with just the bottom bit

which confirmed my suspicions!!


BTW - there is a place near here that does it like this - BUT the pastry top is actually made with the pie - it is proper pastry and not puff pastry
and it is stuck to the disk like a proper pie

I agree on a technicality. However I don't like too much pastry and used to enjoy the ones Sue made in the dish with a thin pastry top.

Good morning. Wet and windy...............I see you've already done the Drago jokes so I'll refrain from further comment. #3SP is here, sleeping soundly at the moment, which she's needed to do since she arrived. 👍

All this talk of pies is having a very distressing effect on me. I have two calories laden pies in the freezer - 750 cals EACH! Fortunately I've already made tonight's tea, Mushroom Stroganoff 141 cals! I'm taking the chance to do some minor admin chores while #3 sleeps. I'm planning to go to a spin session this evening.

@Dave7 no worries about missing Mrs P's news. She does need to rest a lot for this and her cancer, usually from 3.00 - 4.00pm till bedtime. Glad to hear your grandson is safely home though a bit frustrating not to get a diagnosis.

I was asked if I wanted it cut into 4 slices or 6.
I said.....better make it 4 slices as I'm not hungry enough to eat 6.
