Labs are hard work while theyre young pups, but that quickly passes. They're so incredibly affectionate and loyal, brilliant company.

My daughter and SiL had a lovely golden Lab but it was so lively/boisterous.....until she got too old to be bothered.
They loved her, walked her well, trainer her etc but her nature was just sooooo lively.

Its training, nurture, consistency, routine and example from day 1.

Rigid boundaries, positive behaviour reinforcement and they soon learn. They're very intelligent animals and live to please humans.

That said, the job is even easier for me this time round as Bruce is a well behaved, mild mannered and instantly obedient dog and Geddy is quickly learning from his example.

You do get some loons that are harder work, but the fundamental part of their character is for us humans to mould.

They "took" her off a couple that hadn't got a clue. They both worked, lived in a
small terraced house and left the dog in a small back yard all day.
I think she was 2 years old and crazy when they took her.
They paid for help from a dog trainer which helped a lot.
As I said, a lovely and very loving dog but too lively for me.

I nipped out in the evening for a quick wander and met a lady with a lovely black Lab that always recognises me. He’s a big boy and nearly pulls her off her feet when he sees me.

Morning. A frosty one but should be nice for a brisk walk so I’ll get out soon and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Good morning all.
The animals have been fed and watered, the girls have gone out and Harry has come in.
It's a dull damp start to the day today, a bit cool but not to bad.
I'll be out with Millie soon, and then bacon sandwiches for breakfast.
I'll be out on the bike later for a 10-15 miles or so to keep the legs ticking over.
