Your recyclables are split.
The Victoria Gummint has recentlly introduced a ten cent deposit on cans and glass bottles which are no longer appearing in the recyclables bins.

As everyone round here knows - the main bin in Liverpool is Purple
WHich is weird - but it has been adopted, and now anyone who claims to be a Scouser must have a purple bin.
I have never had one - nor do I want one!

Evening all .
No much to report today , done some shopping , got my hair cut and have just put the bin out 😀
Talking of bins, we have three in Coventry.
1) A brown lidded one for garden waste and food waste which is collected every two weeks ( other than the couple of collections around Christmas when they do extra recycling collections ).
2) A green lidded one for general waste and food waste which is collected every two weeks , the same week as the brown bin .
3) A blue lidded bin for all the recycling, also collected every two weeks on the opposite week to the other bins .
It’s a simple system that works well as it’s easy to remember 😀

Don’t know. I never waste food.I think technically you are supposed to put things like tea bags,potato peelings, etc in them.
Potato peelings qualify as food waste but our son composts all our stuff.
Tea bags are made of plastic and do not break down. Ours go into general waste in the red top.
Cooked food scraps eg chop bones etc go into the food waste bin.

Archaeologists have found evidence of humans creating fire - multiply times so not an accident - in Sussex
This was 400,00 years ago - the earliest evidence of deliberate fire making ever found
Which is amazing
It shows that England was cold and wet even 400,000 years ago!
now they need to look for evidence of trade route to India at the same time - otherwise how were they making tea???

Morning. A dry start so my morning walk should be more pleasant. The wind has died down a bit too. Sadly, the showers are to appear again later.
Good morning all fellow retirees.
It's going to be a dry day here with a bit of a breeze.
Today's task is to put a new sliding bolt onto the outside of the back gate, but first I have to cut some timber to build up a base for the bolt to screw to so the bolt will slide into the post.
Dinner will be a freezer surprise, there are a couple of boxes with something I have cooked, but there are no labels on them. I will probably have to cycle up to the local shops for a bit of fresh veg to go with them. It gives me an excuse for a bike ride.
