Morning all :hello:

General stuff to do this morning. Might get out for lunch later.

I believe it's colonial vernacular for a duvet, milord.

Good morning. It's going to be a nice day. The frost has lifted and the sky is pale blue but with a tinge of red. The forecast says wintry mix in the next hour! So far I've done nothing but bugger around all morning. I'm going to iron next and then head off to the gym. #1SP is coming for a sleepover this afternoon. Tomorrow we're taking her to see The Enormous Crocodile at The Lowry. They do three performances a day, the only one I could tickets for is 10.30am  hence the sleepover.

Chilly walk done. Needed my bunnet this morning!

Must be difficult. I imagine the young one is frisky while Bruce has calmed down.
I'm guessing as I've never had a dog.

I see this on rides on paths

If it is done properly - which it will be in this case - the younger one learns what is the proper behaviour from his older "brother"

I used to know a bloke who trained gun dogs
He had a very old one who was too creaky to go out hunting, but he helped no end with the young pups as they saw how to behave from him
He was also the boss - seeing a very old creaky Lab bossing around a lively young adult Lab with nothing more than a look was amazing

Aye. Bruce has always been a calm character and was easy to train. Geddy is like a Tasmanian Devil on acid, but he will learn. He already knows the drill and verbal commands for crossing the road.

But the bigger problem is Geddy is still shy of 5 months old and I have to limit his exercise or risk affecting his skeletal development, yet I also have to walk Bruce who is an athlete in his prime.

So today I compromised, taking Geddy along for a distance probably a bjt beyond that which is advised for his age but doing so at a slow pace, and then keeping him on the lead while Bruce gets his 30 throws of the ball. 25-30 is his limit before hes honking in his effort to breathe - I wind that back or even do away with the ball entirely if its too warm, and he's at his peak now so over coming years ill gently reduce the number of ball throws.

Another bonus is that Geddy absolutely adores his adopted big Brother and falls into step alongside him so he isn't pulling too badly.
