Morning folks might have a weather window to go for a spin though ive been caught out before....once resembled a cycling snowman

I’m still sitting here trying to pluck up the courage to go out. I’m actually starting to feel cold in the house so I don’t know how I’m going to feel out there.

Awaiting several parcels today and tomorrow; I'd accumulated a few hundred pounds in my Ebay account and had decided to invest in some new tools for my workshop.
Bit of a frost this morning. Will go out for a walk later.

Wouldn't it be nice if this new year humanity pulled its collective finger out, grew up and set about making the planet a good place for everyone by working together. Sadly, unlikely to happen but it's a great dream.

Oh, I wish we could. I want this world to be a good one for my granddaughters. What it will be like when they're our age I dread to think.

We have had porridge for breakfast. This necessitated playing Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I was Daddy bear. #1SP alternated between Mummy and Baby bear. Baby bear said Daddy Bear should speak bear..........grrrrr, rrrrrroaaarr,

Cold but calm so chance for a last ride of the year and before the wet weather returns.
Been away with wifes family for a few days so I find I tend not to use phone or internet much when away so hopefully not missed much. I suspect not...

ANyway - weird thing yesterday

I decided my bike was getting to look rather too mucky
and as the gears were a bit didgy the otehr dya I reckoned the chain and gears might need a proper clean and lube rather than a quick scrub and re-oil

anyway - cleaned it properly and cleaned the chain with the new chain cleaner (which was much better than the old cheap one that broke

and thought I better take it out and check I hadn;t knocked anything out of alignment or anything so I just went for a ride around the estate
(no - housing estate - we are not landed gentry and Omaze being lazy about finding my ticket!!)


anyway - rode arounf and at one point - on the normal estate roads - so narrow with car parked all over - a car was coming towards me
enough room but the car did have to move out to get round a parked car but could get back in before I got there
but enough room even if he didn;t
anyway - he moved out and passed the car
I stayed right to my left by teh kerb

and the car just moved out again right towards me!!!

I ended up swerving onto the pavement up a handy dropped kerb to get away

which is weird - I mean

Why!

It not ike I was invisible
I was weraing my hi-vis jacket and bright white helmet
and the bike has hivis stripes all over it


and this was just riding around a housing estate

one of those where I wish I had a camera to check I saw what I think I saw

and get the reg number!!!

I feel it’s getting worse. I think that’s why I am starting to prefer just walking or jogging on the roads rather than cycling. At least you are facing oncoming traffic and not worrying about some twat coming up behind you not paying attention.

Never! it's not a rude word at all, just an acronym for "Total self-gratification artist And Thick" ( I just made that up but it seems to be accurate )

A night full of weird dreams here, dont know why. When I eventually woke it was 8.50.
Cold and frosty here. We are in for a cold week.
Off to the pub at 12.00. That's a bit early but with it being new years eve on doesn't know what to expect.
Just enjoyed my 2nd mug of coffee
