Happy new wossit! :okay: the old back is dodgy this morning and i know what did it.....yesterdayi was wizzing down a hill and had to slow for a tractor, i kept my distance because 1 i didnt want the driver to feel hassled and 2 it had sodding great bale spikes sticking out the back  at the bottom of the hill the driver pulled over and let me by....all very well but now we were going up hill.... So now i was in a funny position of having to keep ahead of the tractor which was now gaining...so now do i let him by or step on the gas? I did the latter and whilst putting the power down i went over some really rough ground which threw be around in the saddle- and thats what did my back. Its not too bad at the moment but will have to be careful not to displace the old vertebrae :okay:

Morning all :hello:

Blimey! It's '26!
Went to bed at 10 last night, first time since I was about 16 that I haven't had a drink on NYE - not intentionally; it just never crossed my mind.
Very quiet at midnight - no fireworks or parties heard.
Out for a walk and pub lunch later.

Morning all. A balmy 5° here but set to dip to minus tomorrow.
Like Dirk, 1st time with no NYs eve alcohol. 60+ years for me.
Unlike Dirk I did miss having a drink with the gang so was in bed early and had a fitful sleep (think that's the right word).
Just enjoyed a strong coffee and will now have a more normal one.
Happy new year to all

just which her bitch of a mother had not been there!!!

A change of thought.....if I may. This is NOT to be morbid or a search for sympathy.....its just a point of view.
I know Mr Numbnuts won't mind me saying, he has voiced similar thoughts (about his ex not yours  ).
My friend/neighbour's wife died shortly before I lost Sue....... they had no relationship for many years even though they stayed together.
Anyway, he told me he doesn't miss her at all (almost the oposite).
I was almost jealous as I went through months of what seemed like physical pain. On good days logic tells me that I had by far the best deal but I couldn't help the odd twinge of jealousy as he felt no pain.
Anyway, I have lots of good days and this, my friends, is one of them.

I tried going to bed early ish last night, but the fireworks started around 11pm and carried on until nearly 1am and they were the really loud ones that sound like bombs going off, so we didn't get to sleep early at all. The cats and Millie were scared witless. There were some fixes in the road outside running about looking terrified as well.

I've heard of dogs chasing thier tail but that's a new one. It'll make his eyes water if he's ever successful.

He does have impressive pair. His middle name is "Danglyplums", so every year some poor vets receptionist had to write to the owner of Bruce Danglyplums Farquhar to get them to book an appointment.

Lemmy's middle name was Hairyballs.

Geddy's middle name is Mole. Mole was temporary name as a puppy and it really did seem to suit the little black creature snuffling about the place so I promised to keepmit as his middle name.
