New Year doesn’t seem as important as it was many years ago. I was surprised to find that the Co-op was open yesterday.

All the main stores were open yesterday down here. Sunday opening times. All the independent shops were closed though.

I presume ASDA was open because when I checked their pharmacy was open

which remind me - must go and get my meds this morning!

Feeling gooood this morning.
Had my 2 mugs of coffee (on water now).
Had a shave and had a nice shower.
Going to have porridge with mixed fruit now.

I wish the weather would make up its mind what it's going to be. Sunshine 20 minutes ago and now it's gone dark and we have snow. I daresay it will stop within 2 minutes

Cold and bright here. Mrs SD has a heavy cold but like most women life goes on regardless - unlike many men!

A bit late on the 2026 finance projections this year so they will get done today.

The north wall of the house still needs painting before it goes on the market later this month. Plans are afoot to address this.

We have put on 8lbs between us over Xmas so back to our low-carb selves from Monday.

Feeling pretty positive about 2026 with thoughts of death having receded since the last bone marrow biopsy. Sounds dramatic but, terminal (no cure), illnesses do that to you.

Cycling diarised to recommence in March.

Normally very active 'marital relations' took a hammering in 2025 so we have planned to get back on track asap. It's a big part of our relationship so is very important to us.

I've still got just over 6 years until I get my state pension, so very much a junior to most on here.

Mmm a little on the younger side 😀 but not my much.
I had over 7 years to go for my state pension to kick in when I joined this happy family, now it’s down to less than 4 years .
The years soon roll round 😂 . Welcome aboard.

Happy Birthday. I can assure you 66 feels a lot worse as it feels like it’s rapidly approaching 70. Time is flying past far too quickly for my liking.

Afternoon everyone and a belated happy new year 😀

Stay safe everyone, we have just been out for coffee , no snow worth taking about , but we had rain last night after the gritters had been round . So a lot of the grit had been washed away when then the temperature dipped below zero in the early hours . The main roads are ok but some of the others are a little slippery.

Just downloaded last years monthly bills from Octopus and did the sums. The combined gas and electric standing charges came to significantly more than the energy charges. This was due to exporting more from solar than I imported. If, as rumoured, they reduce the amount they pay for export then I will have to look into getting a Hot Tub to use up the excess, or set up one of those lucrative " grow labs " in the loft 😁
