I have a job to do for the bin. His girlfriends horse ripped his cover so they want me to sew it. Its a bit yucky, covered in mud. No idea if I can do it yet.

They could have washed at least before they gave it to you!

I was sad to read this, although I also read they plan to restructure and launch as "Alpkit 2.0" through a buyout. The company is undergoing this process to wind up the existing entity while aiming to continue operations under new investment.
So still hope 🙏

The talk on UKClimbing is that they were selling their clothing at similar clothing prices to main stream outdoor brands North Face, Rab or Patagonia which is doesn’t measure up to and their bike stuff is a lot of Chinese imports which is cheaper on Aliexpress.

Back home now and back to invigilating tomorrow and Friday.
Mrs G likes her new kitchen although it isn't quite finished yet. She has been busy putting things away and showing me where everything is now.
Someone is coming tomorrow to give us a quote for skimming a couple of walls.
The kitchen fitter quoted us £900 for doing that. He can forget it.

Along with most building trades, accountants, solicitors, estate agents and dentists the prices quoted are often absolute *iss takes.

Was quoted £500 plus materials to replace 4 ridge tiles on our bungalow.

Took me just under 2 hours to do it myself.

Today, Mrs SD had a deep clean at the dentist that took 12 minutes - just over £100!
